I always tie it direct to the swivel part of a standard ring swivel (with the ring on the leader, helicopter style) - or krimp it if using Boom. I like the idea of the double ring swivels (and use them for chods) but worry about them affording too much movement - can visualize the rig settling back down on top of the leader if picked up by a bird/ moved by crays etc

Tied some D rigs with Korda IQ 15lb seems perfect for the job...

Do people do a loop at the swivel end or a knot straight to swivel ? Seen Gaz Fareham uses a double ring swivel but also seen Nigel sharp just uses a knot

I've used ESP Stiff rigger for booms, chods and d rigs, much stiffer than boom so i don't seem the harm in using it personally. Can't comment on how the stuff knots as I normally crimp when it comes to Korda boom.

Just compared 25lb Boom to 30lb Think Link as they are both 0.55mm diameter and boom is a lot stiffer. Think link is much more supple. Personally would keep Boom for what itís intended for but thatís not to say it wouldnít work.

Haven't used myself mate but think it would be a little too stiff for a d-rig. It was made to be a boom, thats what gave it its name!
