In reply to Post #22 Sounds like Enervite why not recreate that but with modern ingredients?

In reply to Post #1 Besides the taste of the ingredient, at decent levels, it is very recognizable.
Also the content of B Vitamins that I also think is it's biggest plus point.
Combined with some yeast and kelp you have a very good content of B vitamins.

I haven’t used liver powder since the 90’s but I remember that at high levels, with yeast and Robin Red it was very effective.
I haven’t written down any of my old recipes.
Can anyone recommend a proven recipe with high levels of liver, yeast etc. I will only be making small quantities so can afford to use high percentages of good ingredients

In reply to Post #20 Liver powder has a high protein content nearly 60%. That's one of the reasons

Anyone know what the main attractant is in beef liver? Is it the blood content? The reason I ask is that I have got some dog treats that are dehydrated beef lung and the smell / taste is exactly the same. It’s much cheaper and I’m thinking about blitzing a load up and using it in my stick mix.

In reply to Post #18 Thanks mate will check it out. I got some AA Baits hydrolysed liver powder but I doubt it is beef.

In reply to Post #16 The 'Now' stuff is probably the easiest to obtain... But it is Argentinian, so that might rule it out.
The Bulk Powders product is not liver BTW, it's beef protein.
Edit: I've just looked at boilie hub. That seems very cheap for a hydrolysed beef liver powder, and says it's not for human consumption. The picture also does not look like a hydrolysed liver at all. I'm a little sceptical.

In reply to Post #16 Trent baits do beef liver powder that will be good quality and I’ve come across boiliehub who say theirs is hydrolysed beef liver powder. Never used them before so can’t comment on the quality.

In reply to Post #10 I've been looking for some good beef liver powder - bulk have some beef powder but not sure if its liver. I'm trying to avoid Argentinian beef ideally too.

In reply to Post #12 Yes, all really good options. Not dissimilar from a version I used back then, Liver Mix/Premier Marine Mix 50/50, with Compound TF, GLM and Scottish McSalmon Oil.
Several years later (about 2003 I think), I bought a 10kg bucket of Liver Mix and it had changed out of all recognition, and was a pale imitation of the brilliant 90's one.
A friend did really well on the original, battered Spinnaker, with 2oz of Robin Red per pound, and cinnamon EO. Reckoned it was one of the best baits ever.

In reply to Post #13 Monster crab and Nodd Oil for me.
I would put that bait above nearly any that are out there now.

In reply to Post #12 Mine too, I would add GLM, and a good hit of MAC ALA SALAR.

In reply to Post #9 Yeast gives you a reasonable protein content, aabout 40%, lots of B vitamins, high glutamate content and a very good source of nucleotides. Not many ingredients have such a variety of constituents within there make up.
