So me and my son were on a double swim. There were 38 swims in total, and about 33 of them were taken with either 1 or 2 anglers (a few no shows).

At the start, you were allocated a number, and when your number was drawn, you chose what swim you wanted. Even though our number was about the 20th drawn out, our No 2 swim was still available, so we were well happy. It was the barge swim, it has a sunken barge on the right hand side on the north of the pit. Arrived at the swim and fish were showing immediately. Unfortunately, that was where the good news finished, we ended up blanking!! Think there were only 5 fish caught all weekend, from approx 50 anglers. Didn't even win anything on the raffle. But what an awesome place, it's a pity the waiting list is closed.

All in all, one of the best blanks of my life.

Thanks to all for the advice.

They have stocked some fish into it... there was brief period where the club who had it ditched the ticket .. and i think maybe 1 or 2 seasons where it was a bit of a free for all in the early 2010s... since then its been taken over and syndicated, looks like it gets fished regularly. Looks like there are some originals left with some nice looking stockies coming out at good weights.. not sure on biggest fish but wouldnt be surprised if there are a few 30s in there now and maybe a scraper 40..

I wasnt aware the C Scale fish ever went to 50lb... I know it was caught off the island when you could walk out to one of them as from memory its a short walk across ( i cant quite remember memory could be failing me). Id say 600 is a pretty penny, each to their own and in the future i might be tempted into putting name down

Thanks for the response, indeed anywhere there are carp it will be rammed nowadays. Still think you can access those swims, I'm guessing they are the swims you have to barrow to - their website says you can park behind all but 3 swims.

Fished it from 07 to 2010 basically packed in on there when syndicate took it on was an awesome place no more tan 3 or 4 of us on was managing 3 or 4 nights most wks back then building trade and resession used to spend most of my time either fishing toward the islands of the farmers field ain't share if there accesses a more and on a Plato of that field we could use dinghy and bait boats bk then so baiting and distance wa sent a problem and getting plenty of vision baits at cost price helped baiting heavily we had some nice fish I'm shure the syindicate had a stocking policy lined up I'd have joined but my name came up on ellsmere angling and that's where I been since but often think about swarkstone don't think I'll ever get 70 acers and the chance of a 50 which was c scale no longer with us I believe and 4 anglers on unheard of and not that long ago
