In reply to Post #8 Yep - should be good to go on a conservation license. Will be about $45 for 3 years and should be available at CT. I see ticket prices in the UK and laugh at how much they cost now. There’s a new website up now that meant to pretty good too.
Where are you based? GTA?

In reply to Post #5 A good angler only needs 1 rod, so you should do really well! I often use 4 if I am allowed to!

In reply to Post #4 craig is peeved as he thought he had all the kit he needs
I actually worked with the policy officers on the bait part - the plant food bit is mainly around the EA (equivalent) officers can easily check on what people are fishing with. We have some strong laws around animal feeds here and they didn;t want to cross over into that. They were also worried about people using 3 rods for other species (pike fishing for example) as a lot of people here catch to eat so this made sure that it made a distinction.

In reply to Post #1 That will please Craig but why the bit about plastic or plant based baits?
I am sure all your boilies are made with maize, semolina, flour etc...no fishmeal in sight officer

Anyone who lived in or has travelled to Canada knows how frustrating it has been around the fact that we were only allowed to use 1 rod when carp fishing.
As for today, we are now allowed to use 3 rods in Ontario when fishing for carp as long as we are using plastic or plant based baits.
Yay!
