As said - the you can set the bottom bead to stop a chod rig from blunting on the lead, or if you want to fix the rig in place. Its not required for longer rigs.

Second way is more for chods. Can fish it with a normal hoolink but much more likely to get tangled. Use top way if your not using it for a choddy mate. Adjust top bead only. Id keep second bead so you can change to a choddy if needed . Just keep it near the buffer sleeve

I think i am reading it right, but i would always have some sort of buffer for the hooklink swivel to rest against above the lead.

i use clips (so i cna remove my leads when packing up).

Clip, ESP buffer bead (clip pulls into this), ring swivel (ring on the leadcore), small ESP bead, accompanying silicone tube, needle knot to mainline.

Personally dont see the point of a buffer bead, and then a normal bead before the swivel, just an extra bead that isnt required imo.

Hope that helps?

Hi

New to using heli lead set up, only used a few times before.

When setting one up, am I ok to, from the lead end up the leadcore - lead-running quick change swivel- top bead.

Then just adjust the one top bead depending on the depth of the silt/chod.

I have seen it set up this way but I Have also seen it set up the same way I have just described BUT with the quick change swivel trapped between two beads so lead-bottom bead-qc swivel-top bead.

Is there a right or wrong or better or worse way to set them up? And what are the benefits of both?

I hope I have described what I mean properly!
