I'd be careful, I tried to do what you're trying to do and broke the bloody thing. If it's a blue one, I have a brand new, unused JR stow for sale in the classifieds...

I did, but if itís a simple fix i prefer that instead of sending them to UK

Somebody got advice how to replace isotope from a original Johnson Ross Elstow bobbin? Remove the top/color part or bottom whipping/weight?

One isotope is faded so would replace them. Have whipping thread & epoxy finish from some rod building projects left so rebuilding them is no problem.
