In reply to Post #52 How many ‘pro’ anglers are there? That actually solely fish for a living. I’m not talking about anyone that has another job inside a bait or tackle firm, fishery, etc. One that is solely employed to go fishing.

In reply to Post #52 Maybe pro anglers should furlough themselves?

In reply to Post #50 If you're a pro angler, places to get your kit from are essential to your angling are they not?

In reply to Post #49 The government have instructed AstraZeneca to slow production down.It could be why you have stated but if its no vaccine or something that can prevent the virus,I know which I would choose

In reply to Post #47 bait and tackle shops aren't essential. don't recall saying they were. they are like fishing for pleasure - not essential.
i also never said I would be staying in because 'i want to'. I'll be doing it because there's a bigger picture and it benefits others. I'll be going in to work when needed to supervise key worker and vulnerable kids and I'll be delivering online lessons from home when I can.
disagreeing doesn't make someone a dickhead (something else I never said)
one could argue that saying 'footballers are being instructed to still go to work, then I'm going to go out and do what i 'want' to ' does though...I'll let others be the judge of that

In reply to Post #48 Clearly.
Just giving a reason as to why they may be prioritising other, more effective, vaccine orders first.
Of course it could just be that they can’t distribute it quick enough so no point ordering more than you can handle. But then the manufacturers themselves aren’t controlled by the government and the British government are not the sole customers. If anything the lack of producing to capacity is on the manufacturer not the customer?

In reply to Post #46 Better than no vaccine at all though surely

In reply to Post #44 The only argument I’ve seen as selfish is your own. You don’t want to go out so no one can. Now that’s selfish. how is walking up a hill or sitting with a rod any more of a danger to health if alone ?
I’m more than happy to stop in doors if they do it properly where everyone is in lockdown. But while there’s 22 people playing football and people working jobs that are not essential I won’t be making my self a prisoner either.
How are bait and tackle shops essential , many are click and collect but that’s still not essential , there’s 1000s working jobs non essential,
Just because someone doesn’t agree doesn’t mean the rest are dickheads

In reply to Post #43 Probably because it’s nowhere near as effective as other vaccines and works differently.

In reply to Post #43 The figures for covid infection look to be showing a similar seasonal pattern though. And 11000 annually compared to potentially the same figure in just over a week is still a weak argument, seasonal or not.
I don't believe everything either. But people are dying and it's not flu. I've seen first hand how it affects people and (thankfully) how long the recovery can take. I'm sick of people moaning that they can't go fishing / play golf / get a sodding bikini wax. There's a bigger picture and I'm afraid angling is just a few brush strokes (or pixels if you prefer) on it - if that
As for vaccines, I'm sure there'll be some government shenanigans going on. I don't trust them (politicians) at all. The doctors, nurses, carers I've heard, no reason for them to lie about the horrible day to day they're facing.
Nothing personal fella. Don't want any snowflake wind-up merchants complaining do we?

In reply to Post #42 Flu season as the experts call it is not over a 12month period.Im sorry Mal but I dont believe all the bull**** we are being told.I grew up in Macclesfield and know people that work for AstraZeneca, this vaccine could be produced alot quicker than the government is saying so why is it not being done

In reply to Post #40 Braders mate - 11000 a year vs 1300 per day.... not a very strong line of argument there given that equates to about 8 and a half days - if the death rate doesn't increase at all..
And to those who see this as a win... Yes well done the Angling trust for pandering to a bunch of entitled, selfish, blinkered whingers. I'm sure they'll be on hand to look after you and yours should, god forbid, you or your loved ones catch the virus.
Pathetic
And the 'I have to get out for the fresh air for my mental health' excuse is ******** too. I'm not downplaying mental health issues in any way at all but I'm pretty sure you can get out into the fresh air / take a walk/ spend time by yourself without a ****ing fishing rod. It's not exercise, it's not your employment and it's not necessary.
Peace and ****ing love

In reply to Post #29 Perhaps you should try rethinking the content of your posts then. Nearly every post I see you make is clearly intended to provoke a reaction out of someone.

In reply to Post #39 Get used to being locked in four walls,1300 deaths today from covid. Its nothing to do with it being flu season which kills on average 11000 every year though. Its ALL covids fault
