In reply to Post #82 Ahhhhh...now I understand....with almost every country in the world over reacting and having to impose very similar restrictions as us......and you know better......get a life

In reply to Post #86 Have you got yours on ? If so what’s the problem ? You do know that unless the mask is N95 rated it offers minimal protection anyway 😉

In reply to Post #83 Exactly. I’m waiting to have a tyre changed. Sitting in the small waiting room there’s a lad in his twenties. Mask pulled down under his chin. Absolutely no consideration for others. In a country where will need people to have responsibility. We discover most have none.
I decided to stand outside where it’s lightly snowing instead of breathing in his fumes.

Keep repeating the same experiment expecting a different result!! Lockdowns have been proven not to work as for masks & social distancing they don’t seem to be having any real affect if the alleged infection rates are to be believed !!

In reply to Post #76 "The GB Declaration is utter nonsense peddled by conspiracy theorists . . "
"Herd immunity is a completely flawed concept . . "
I'm sorry but you are talking twaddle on both counts - the vaccine (magic bullet) may help reduce the numbers but will NEVER resolve this . . .Covid is here to stay and we need to live with it either sooner or later . . .
I totally agree the 'at risk' generation (my own parents fall into this category) should be the focus of all protection but the draconian measures ENFORCED on the rest of us seems to be ignoring the current and future collateral damage to livelihoods, businesses, entire industries (retail / leisure / the arts) mental health, families, relationships, kids education, kids sport, kids futures.
Don't forget the Tax bill we will all be stiffing and you've got a recipe that will create FAR greater problems going forward, Covid or no Covid . . . . .this is NOT the bubonic plague ffs . . .

In reply to Post #79 The vaccine doesn’t stop you from getting or transmitting the virus it merely lessens the symptoms 😉

In reply to Post #77 The NHS is struggling......so why not just do what we have been told for the next 6-8 weeks and stay at home ...the elderly are going back into isolation.....we all get vaccinated and then you can unselfishly go fishing.......

In reply to Post #77 That’s a nice idea. I’ve heard loads of people say it. But so far none of them have been able to give a single credible way they would achieve it. I have however heard many many doctors say it’s horse ****.

In reply to Post #74 . . .influenza could EASILY fill every ward in the country 3x over if GP's referred every patient with symptoms. . .people aren't as scared of flu as it hasn't had a media backed fear campaign attached to it . . . .so they stay at home (self isolate) take plenty of Vit C / D till they feel better . . .
Read the declaration - 99.75% survival rate for u70's . . . .the risk simply doesn't exist for the majority so protect the older generation and let the rest of us (especially kids at school) get n with it . . . . . .perspective

In reply to Post #67 The GB Declaration is utter nonsense peddled by conspiracy theorists. Herd immunity is a completely flawed concept. Its impossible to allow people less likely to be seriously affected to go about their normal business without it passing onto the generation who are at a greater risk.
We've been under various forms of lockdown since March and ICUs are still filling up at an alarming rate despite restrictions. The thought of letting covid rip through the healthy population is just inhumane.
People like Adam Penning want to have a look at themselves, they have a platform and they are using it to peddle out utter nonsense. Yeah hes a good angler but I don't think he has many qualifications in epidemiology. I'll take my chances with real doctors.

In reply to Post #74 we should have also shut the borders back in march....no one in, no one out

In reply to Post #67 "This is not SARS/EBOLA - the death rates are no different to that of annual flu ffs!"
We all know that....but when was the last time flu, ebola etc filled up almost every ICU bed in the country so other illnesses could not be treated......
