In reply to Post #473 I know of two people who contracted covid after visiting a hospital, one was Boston, the other in Harlow. That was last March. One of them ended up in an ITU for 6 weeks, he was 48 with no underlying health issues. I have had to visit the hospital many times over in the last six months due to heart issues - I am super cautious - you see all sorts coming and going, people not wearing masks (including staff!), lack of social distancing and people all touching the same doors and ticket machines in the car parks, but not cleaning their hands before or after. So, you still think it's odd that going to hospital is high risk? Take your head out of the sand pal

I ignore the doubters, haters, fools who dont believe this is real. we are all entitled to our opinions, its not until you know people who have caught it and died it becomes really real

In reply to Post #478 I have done everything we have been told to do mate.I have not seen my mum for ages to protect her as I'm still working. Its just getting harder and harder to keep listening to all the doom and gloom.Once all the old and vulnerable have had the vaccine they should let us get on with it

In reply to Post #468 fair enough - the OP seemed to be taking issue with the essential nature of the work - a decent home for NHS staff is a higher priority than a lot of the other things i'm coming across, hence my sarcasm.
My mam (that's 'mum' to you lot) went in hospital for severe arthritic pain issues just before October Half Term. Then caught covid on the ward. Was moved to another hospital facility for isolation and then physio / pain treatment. Then moved out of there early december (to free up bed space) to a care home with the promise of physio visits - which are yet to happen.
now she's out of the NHS system and into the care system and we are looking at how the hell it's supposed to be paid for.
if the NHS wasn't so stretched because of poor government and selfish individuals then she might have been home before Christmas and actually have been treated.
even my patience is pushed to it's limit with this farce
edit - and if the people next door to me had builders / decorators wandering around with no masks or distancing I'd be reporting it.

In reply to Post #473 you should consider it as a very strong possibility yes... I am not saying that is ok, I am just stating what reality is! Not going to doctor/hospital for stupid reason or as a result of stupid behavior is imo at the moment more important than some other measures...

In reply to Post #472 I know precautions are taken I also knows doctors and nurses are being made to go into work showing symptoms.I know someone who was told she had tonsillitis not covid and to get on with her job.No shock to find she did have covid and had been in work for days with it
