Brown fish poo isnít as catchy as red fish pro 😂😂 very popular last year! And after Terry Hearns book came out with his love of a red fish bait coated in salmon oil, Iím hoping to sell a bit more this year (if we are allowed out again)

Below is from DNA baits website, from their Secret 7 boilie information...

"There is now a slight colour change in the Secret 7 freezer and shelf-life baits (please see picture in product gallery) due to the synthetic dye present in the original Robin Red no longer allowed to be used in fish feed in accordance with regulations put in place by DEFRA. Consequently, the red dye now used in Robin Red is completely natural, which is great, but it means it doesnít hold its colour in the bait as well as its synthetic predecessor".

From Haiths' webpage, new Robin Red:

Composition:
Capsicum, Red Beet Extract, Sucrose, Vegetable oil, Maltodextrin

My guess is they removed the synthetic carotenoid from this because it is only approved for use in feed for birds and salmonids.
It may have changed over the years due to the legally added level of those carotenoids has been lowered.

Yeah the original recipe had to be changed due to changes in the laws and exporting bait. They still make the original at haiths but itís not for fish consumption I believe. The new version is similar make up but Iím assuming the red dye elements have changed. We still use haiths as I have never found a better replacement but we just up the levels now to compensate

Wasn't there a thread here not so long back which proved they had changed it from the original recipe? Either way, very overrated

It definitely has. It used to be evil. Mix up a kilo of bait then spend a week looking like an axe murderer or someone with the worlds worse chillblains.

The original recipe might not have change, itís just they donít use it anymore :-)
