In reply to Post #15 I ordered shelf life’s as my days of having freezer space are long gone with a family. The texture isn’t soft but wouldn’t says it’s that firm. Nice and easy to break up between my fingers but reckon they’d stick out nicely if needed.

In reply to Post #15 I had a vnf sample freezer pack. About 40 baits and 5 pop ups. Lovely texture. Soft but not to soft

In reply to Post #14 What did you get in the sample packs, fresh or shelfies? What's the firmness like, soft or firm?

In reply to Post #13 Just ordered a xcel baits sample pack. Have to say both baits look lovely. Really like the look of the ksc. Can see the oil coming out the baits. Looks perfect and smells like a bait i did very well on years ago. Almost reminds me of the original source. I am going to order some with the 20% off this weekend.

for the xcel baits, use 20off for 20% if ordering
so 10kg works out at £6.40 per Kg

I was getting the mad baits stuff cheap a season or so ago so thought I would give it a go. I could not buy a bite on the stuff despite being on fish months passed as I persisted with it. I finally had enough got the rolling table out and made my own the next session I was straight into fish and was consistent from then on. I would not use again if they paid me 5 quid a kilo. Do yourself a favour and have a look at rollin baits dark spell it’s an enzyme treated bait that a lot of work has gone into and won’t break the bank either!.

In reply to Post #9 Hi Nojoakes, yeah i would defo give it a go,Shaun the owner will sort you some samples im sure,he doesnt shout too loud about how good his bait is,he doesnt have to as results speak for themselves, you wont find him go mad with adverts either trying to hook the angler into believing the hype,he's just a sound, hardworking guy producing good quality bait that works!!
He has another bait called The Max on test but the fact he only produces 2/3 baits tells you everything, its all you need really,a good fishmeal and a nut/carbohydrate type mix,,look at companies like Essential and Baitworks, small range but high quality baits that catch carp not the angler, both run by great people too.

In reply to Post #7 Hi guys, ive used both baits from Xcel.they are both very good catchers, well constructed and thought out,Shaun who runs it is a top bloke, plenty of experience and knowledge.
I particularly like and have best results on the VNF,incredibly moorish to smell and taste, good enough to eat.
First time out a few years ago i took 1kg to a tricky little estate lake in January on a day session,no prebaiting, the lake in question had done very few bites since the autumn, being silty i fished two chods with matching VNF pop ups on and scattered 100 or so dumbells around the area,i caught within the hour and the swivel on the chod was on the carps lip where the hook normally is and looking on the mat it was covered in creamy VNF slush that the carp was crapping out.
I had another carp that day both 20lb plus commons and the 3 other lads on who were bivvied up all blanked.i had 28 carp in 14 days-only fishing from Jan until mid March when i went to my main syndicate in Cambs where the good run continued.
Well orth a try,not advertised much compared to some but if youre in the Manilla,Cell etc....nut mix market then i would speak to Shaun and get on it,very underrated stuff.
Havent done much with the KSC but again very nutritious and works well,a friend emptied Northey Park using it.

In reply to Post #1 I used mad baits last year and did ok. I quite rate the asbo and wicked whites. I did notice some inconsistency with the asbo, not in colour but in the actual bait consistency. Some were a lot harder than others and i had a few where the baits were almost powdery in the middle. I wont be using them again but i did catch a few on it

In reply to Post #3 I was intrigued by excel and the baits so ordered a sample of vnf. It smells lovely and looks a well put together bait. Not just a thrown together dough ball

In reply to Post #1 my mate has done really well on mad baits straight from th e bag so to speak. No baiting up, just straight fishing and has caught from the off on a tricky water
