Ive been using a gardner duvet compact bag for 3 years. The compact fits nicely on my trakker levelite els.
The standard size must be enormous and would do a very big bedchair.
I find its warm enough until temps dip below 5 degrees. Then i simply add a bedchair cover and its warm as toast even in minus temps.
Great versatile bag, only slight niggle is the zips snag a lot.

I paid nearer 100 quid for my carp duvet compact and that does me in all but extreme cold delights,I bought the sleeping bag cover for 59.99 and throw than on when it's really cold and I've never once been cold withbthat combination....I didn't realise the carp duvet had gone up that much in price.
I had the original ventec,by far the warmest bag I've used but sold it as way too bulky

The original ventec was the warmest bag I have ever used,it was massive to pack away though.The Gardner bag is now close to £200 I paid that for my dpm fortis bag

Paid £120 for mine, cheapest I could find the Fortis at the time was £220, how anyone can say the original ventec isn't a much warmer bag I don't understand as many used to say they found it too warm. The latest ventec has been re sized .

The price of these bags now make it not worth the money imo,you can get the snugpak fortis for similar money if you shop around

I agree with Jon
Had my duvet compact awhile now and used it on some pretty cold nights.
I find it better than the Ventec 5 season, the Fox bag is too big so you get big air gaps around you that seem to take ages to heat up.
I’m 6’4” and medium build so not small by any means, the Ventec must be worse for smaller people as the air gaps will be even bigger.
I use the compact duvet with the matching cover and have never been cold.

I've had one for the last couple of years.
Having removed the lower 'shoulder baffle' that was a complete pain in the ... shoulder, I like it.
The material's good - you don't get tied up in knots if you move about. The zips are fine - never had one get caught on the lining. Size is fine (I'm 6ft 3 and not as slim as I used to be - 'compact' model).
I've used it with a decent cover and hot water bottle on nights that have got down to -2 or 3 and been perfectly comfy.
Maybe not the best available, but a good value for money sleeping bag.

I've got the Gardner as well but don't think it will be warm enough for me once the frosts come, maybe wrong but time will tell.

Hello guys. Just wanted to resurrect this post.
As i cant use sleep systems, i find them way to restricted arround the feet i bought a Fortis Techlite at full money.
What an absolute wate of money. The lining, although smooth is that baggy it wraps arround your feet tangling you up like your worst tangle and makes the whloe experience awful. The the lack of central securing strap means the bag twists all over the place as the lining wraps its self all over you. The there are the zips, is cut in suc a way there is little difference in length from the top leaf and bottom meaning you can not zip it to the top, the second you try and free your self from being swallowed by the lining the zips fly open. I had such a bad time with it i had to come home after 1 night. A quick email to fotis along woth some videos the agreed it was not correct and sent them off to snugpack. I got a respoce today to say snugpack say its fine so there is nothing they can do! Waste of 260!
I was then looking at the gardner bag but i dont think its uo to the job for me in winter. I sleep under a brolly in any weather.
Also qhile i sleep on a standard size bed i am 6ft3 and 22 stone, 55 inch chest and size 13 feet so i do need a bag with good room, preferably smooth lining.
I had a bag that was awesom in winter, i just couldnt rember what it was until today, a Wichwool Morpheus Ultra 7 but they dint make them any more.
Any other bags i should be looking at?
I like the look of the JRC 3d TX with its 3d sides it looks like it has plenty of room alothough it will be big on the chair.
I hate winter fir this very reason

I contacted Gardner back in June, they were waiting for confirmation of delivery, there best guess at the time was late July but clearly stock has not arrived.
They advised they would post on there Facebook page when stock has arrived.

Billy Clarke have the compact in stock if that’s what your after. I paid £124 + tax for some reason and had mine at £144 or there about.
