I have a couple of partial spools of it but I use it for all its good for, heavy duty thread for making repairs on bags and bivvys etc. Despite the number of fish that I caught on it, it was a nightmare to use. Its anti tangle properties were next to non. It used to be rare to wind in and not find your rig tangled. I would not be surprised if it was dacron that led to the use of tubing to make anti tangle rigs.

But, I did bring it out of retirement about 15 years ago to make some rigs up whereby I would run superglue into most of the hooklength to make it stiff and just leave about an inch or two limp near the hook. It worked too, but I gave up after suffering having to put up with hardened super glue on my thumb and index finger which I used to get the superglue into the fibres.

Not sure about the Drennan stuff but Cortland Micron is still about, I used to use the white one many many moons ago, maybe something similar around?

Why ???
It was a supple hooklink but not very durable , I can remember lots of breakages until Kryston manufactured proper hooklink material and the rest is history .

Drennen Dacron was discontinued some time ago.Does anyone know if it's still available anywhere or has anyone got any that they know longer use and would like to get rid of?
