In reply to Post #5 I can vouch for that. Can count all the fish in both lakes on two hands. I did a few years on there on and off and it’s not easy but the fish are really nice looking and it’s barely fished by carpers. Very, very weedy and stuffed with tench and bream. I couldn’t stop them even with 3 inch 15/18mm snowmen pop ups and size 4 hooks! Had some very sleep deprived nights.
Kinewell if you go in Dodson and horell in the village and ask you will get the info.

In reply to Post #2 I think I’ll take a walk round Barnwell. Worth a look at least. I think Kinewell looks a no go unless you know someone....

In reply to Post #2 Ditchford isn’t fenced and I’m sure the fishing has been stopped on there after the fence application was denied.......

In reply to Post #1 Ditchford & the houghton lakes might be worth a look? Sadly I have contacts for neither as I lost the numbers I had for them. Someone on here will know though.
Ditchford is fenced, houghton isn’t. Other than those you have other unfenced waters that still hold a few fish, Thorpe Waterville, kinewell, Barnwell country park and of course the river. There is a few “no fishing” pits that hold carp too.

Can anyone share any info on any decent venues up in the Nene valley? I’ve fished 4 or 5 lakes up there now and love the area and looking for a new challenge. I know about irchester and Grendon , but not sure how you get on them - probably need to know an existing member?
I also know about Chris Berry’s places and the no publicity lakes near Summerleys.
I’m looking at more difficult places, not runs waters. And ones with the fish still in there - not ottered. I know in the past loads of lakes up there had good uns in but in the current days with so many otters around, loads of lakes in the valley have been ruined
Pm if preferred
