In reply to Post #12 It was over a year ago, when you are dreaming of owning a lake somewhere and just searching the net

In reply to Post #13 China lakes 4 lakes not 34!

In reply to Post #12 I would be interested as well on that link.
Narrowly missed out on China lakes (as I couldn't sell my house- Brexit!!) now sold and I can find bugger all in France I like. My budget is up to around 600k euros.
China lakes is great. 34 big Lakes 18 aces, plus x 2 at 8 acrctes, and a 6 acre plus a long stock pond about an acre. A bar and a huge warehouse building, ablution block, approx 80 acres of land (mostly forest) . Fish to 70lb plus (cats over a 100 if that's your thing in a separate lake) . And that went for just over 400k euros. House was on Top for about 160k euros.
So this place definitely over priced.
Brittany lakes also sold for around 700k plus and that was Turing over 200k a year. Just out of my budget, and I hadn't sold my house!
Yes, this is over priced, dreaming at 1.4m euros!

In reply to Post #9 do yiou have a link to this place?

It's been on the market for well over a year, nearer 18 months I think. I cancelled a repeat booking this year took it forward to next. Dans a nice bloke with a lovely family, I hope he gets what he needs and the place doesn't go private ownership, which it could well do.

Hope our booking is honored next May.....

In reply to Post #7 Indeed, I saw a place last year, two 3/4 bedroom houses, outbuildings, 3 lakes, 9acre, 5acre, 2 acre all set on 80 acres of land 400k (euros), ok this is an established business, but not a million £’s worth!

In reply to Post #7 The other thing people also overlook, you can't get a mortgage on that type of property in France. So unless you have cash, forget it. And that lack of access to finance keeps values suppressed.

In reply to Post #2 Been looking a while. Think you are a little light there David, but then again only 10 acres of lakes, it ain't £1.4m! You would be amazed at what is available in France at that kind of money. Around 1m euros you are into château and huge estates (there is one for sale at just under 1m euros that had a 25 acre lake and a 12 acre lake plus about 60 acres of land) . People compare UK prices with French prices. There is a big difference.

In reply to Post #3 He's added carp tax

In reply to Post #4 2 x Owners Houses, 1 x 3 bed stone built cottage bigger than most people's homes, 1 x one bed house, 2 Lakes, 35 acre estate. Seems pretty fair to me

I thought it was quite reasonable what with the main house and 35 acres of land the lakes with accommodation but I am far from knowledgeable as to French property prices.

I'm pretty sure the price has gone up half a mill from the last time he tried to sell it.🤔🤔

In reply to Post #1 A great buy, what at that price, think you must be joking, 400 to 600k maybe, fish stock included of course!
