Don't think you can go far wrong with the Korda Dark Matter mate, it's heavy and does the job - in the depths of winter, run a flame under the tin for a few seconds....softens all the putty up and makes it workable.

Yet still the best on the market. Kryston be a country mile. Tried the Nash Gardner and Deception another of the Internet bought some more Kryston out of frustration and it was as good as my original stash. Put another few tubs and gave the other stuff to a pal.

I've found Heavy Metal to still be the best. Under no circumstances use the Gardner stuff... Its like glue and doesn't harden well at all.

I found it utter rubbish, not very sticky, and nowhere near as dense as others

I bought Kryston Heavy Metal putty, must be 7 years ago, still got the same tub.

The only alternative I found any good was Gardner, but a lot of that got eaten by crayfish so I switched back to match olivettes where they were present.

Also find Nash putty quite reasonable. Tried the ESP tungsten, not impressed.
