I got so peed off with this happening I just stopped using coated braids years ago. Now use combi rigs/ fluoro/ braid. Too frustrating tying a rig then it's ruined when you tighten the last knot.

I've been using ESP Tungsten Loaded and had no problems whatsoever with 4 turn grinner.
Maybe go real slow when tightening down the knot with plenty of saliva.

In reply to Post #1 Had that years ago but don’t use those brands anymore. From memory I used to dab the knott with cooking oil to lubricate and bed it down slowly without stripping
