Most of carpology is just a load of dribble as are the reviews as you say. They never say anything negative.

Iím not sure any magazines done genuine reviews, probably more to the fact the companies paying to advertise would pull out.

Their reviews are not much to go on. They never give a bad one or for them to say its over priced.

Depends how long you had spent on the bank and the only female voice you have heard in days was how much of your top up was left on your phone when you checked.

Other than that, nothing special to get excited about.

I grab the odd copy still, mostly out of habit having bought the first 100 religiously. I find less of interest in it now, it's got a bit more serious than the earlier mags, and my own angling has changed a lot so I find most articles less relevant to me.

It's probably the best of the remaining mags though, I'd quite like to see it continue as a quarterly with a big dose of subsurface inspiration. Some quality coffee table reading rather than the 30 minute scan it is now.

I'm tempted to buy one of the hoodies though, I used to live in them in the mid noughties

Yep. Like all the previous bygone magazines before it. THe Cost of paper 📝 going up along with the sponsorship writers fees going up with popularity and demand.
Publishing Overheads would be cut by going online only and paper free.
I still like reading on paper though, more than online.

Carpology website has a lot of the decent stuff archived on it. I tend to dig back through the articles to find some good content. Itís 100% changed in to more of an advert mag now. I am sure it used to be much more real and less biased.

But letís face it, most of us stopped buying it when the fitty of the month got dropped

Total Carp is definitely the more basic of the magazines and I found it awful to read and as such have not bought a copy in at least 5 years (so accept it may have improved in that time, albeit unlikely). I agree that most of carpology is just not interesting anymore and is very repetitive and does now read, look at how big my fish was, this is how I caught it, which is very similar time and time again and as already mentioned, there is only so many ways that can be written. There are a few exceptions for me as I put earlier in the thread but sad to say the era of magazines is truly over and an online subscription model is the likely only viable way forward for the few that are left

Really? Carpology comes across as just a **** as the rest of the comics were before they went one by one. It's the Mr man of the magazine world......

If you have a short attention span yeah go for total carp i like it to YouTube everything is short and broken down into little sections. Carpology articles are for people with a reading level above a five year old who can actually sit and read an article lol. Donít say I donít have time for that as it doesnít wash lol

I agree, I have a sub that's is due to run out later this year (thanks to free bait deals)

Much prefer Total Carp, find it much more practical with regards to tips etc, I find carpology a bit dull now, never end up reading the full issue which is a shame really as I much prefer print media over online.
