In reply to Post #881 Assuming I’m assuming... the chain of assumptions ever lengthens.
I say ban the lot.

In reply to Post #880 I wasn't thinking or referring to those areas you mentioned and for that reason you reply doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
You obviously have made up your mind on the subject so I see little point in carrying on.

There's plenty in those area's of this country that'd make you feel uncomfortable wearing a Union Flag so why not those I wonder

In reply to Post #874 You mean like The Falls road West Belfast or Toryglen Glasgow. For Union Flag wearing?

In reply to Post #875 Ask the geezer with a fully kitted out mobility scooter shouting at foreigners in the town centre about going back to their own country...
Then again if far right extremist group hadnt have adopted them as badges and logos then maybe no one would think anything of them. Probably need to have words with farage and Tommy Robinson about that though.

In reply to Post #872 I saw so many British and English flags all over on the run up to the Brexit referendum. Not done out of pride, otherwise they'd have always been on display surely? Done to say "We should leave the EU and you're not welcome anymore"
Is that an assumption.......You should know better than assuming......

In reply to Post #873 Yes let's hope it stays that way and things actually improve so in certain parts I no longer feel uncomfortable.

In reply to Post #869 Good job many GB sports teams and fans don't see it the same as you and the Google post #871

In reply to Post #871 The only incidents I know of locally where the british or english flag has been subject to complaint is when it has been used in an inflammatory way. E.g. I saw so many British and English flags all over on the run up to the Brexit referendum. Not done out of pride, otherwise they'd have always been on display surely? Done to say "We should leave the EU and you're not welcome anymore"
Normally the people complaining are themselves british too funnily enough because they actually think of others and not just themselves.
Nothing wrong with being patriotic, everything wrong with being patriotic to get a racist/xenophobic point across.
Scozza, buying a UJ mask to wear because its the only design you liked is fine, if you'd chosen to buy it so you could wear it to make a point to foreigners that they arent welcome however, well that would be perfectly acceptable for someone to complain about.

In reply to Post #869 Google 'Is the union jack racist' and you'll find plenty saying that it can cause problems, the George Cross even more so.
Might depend on where you live?

Its an immunity to your pathetic comments that I need to build up

In reply to Post #867 Thought you were a proud Britain?
I certainly am
Or are you buying in to the apparent “we aren’t allowed to be British” rhetoric that the right wing spout?
lets say I wouldn't feel comfortable in it. Maybe it has had the wrong image portrayed by a few minority extreme groups, hence i can see it ending up being banned sadly or future campaigns against it
