Major govt policy news is released by the Telegraph before Sunak.
NHS staff having free parking cut. I know they stopped the clapping, but didn't realize they'd re-started the shafting.

In reply to Post #103 as a typical Y10 lad at school might say....
WTAF?
maybe he thinks that Cummings actually stormed Barnard Castle in a Dominic Raab approved Game of Thrones fashion....

Mark Francois. A full to the brim tub of self-parody, telling the chief of the defence staff that Cummings will be over to sort things out.
Another totally normal day.

In reply to Post #100 i was thinking 'maybe that's why she's his EX sister in law...'
I think the stuff on market stalls and in smaller family business shops is one thing, but for a massive company like Boohoo to be part of the chain on this is the more surprising thing I guess.
nine 0 six - they'd all passed me by. I guess I subconsciously switch off from 'fashion' items. maybe someone could've done something about it all earlier eh?

In reply to Post #95 did you tell your ex sister in law off?
No. Once tried to finger her though but she wasn’t having it

In reply to Post #95 Chaps this has been going on for years. I lived in Tower Hamlets in the early 2000’s and it was the same there. All these wholesale clothing shops along Mile End Road and surrounding areas, if you looked at them there was a shop front for showing the clothes but above every shop was 3 or 4 floors with all the windows barred and clothing stacked on the window cills. In the summer with the windows open all you could here in the early morning late at night was sewing machines. I’m sure the bars weren’t there to protect the stock!

In reply to Post #94 You're absolutely right that people working in these places are doing it because they need the job / income. In this country and abroad.
And regarding Nike... It's been known for years that they and others have dodgy practices and I can't understand how they are still endorsed by so many. Are they still doing it all as bad as they were? There's a short play called 'Trainers' that I sometimes do with the younger kids at school that explores the whole thing - good for them to get a bit of knowledge about it.

In reply to Post #89 Happens in Bradford and Manchester too
My ex sister in law used to run few market stalls. People in the know go to the high street stores buy one of each garment, drop them off at the sweatshops and they will do identical copies for a fraction of the price, She used to pay about £5 for the equivalent of a £40 Top shop piece for example if buying in bulk and flog them for 1/2 the original price. The people working in them want jobs, blame the bent ****s for opening them and providing the service
Absolutely no different to what other leading "brands" such as Nike are doing in other countries, paying the people absolute peanuts, exporting it and charging us top dollar. Truth be know i bet most of these BLM people would ditch the swoosh and others if they knew the real truth

In reply to Post #89 2017, C4: "Leicester sweatshops exposed"
2018, FT: "Exploitation in UK garment industry"
2019, BBC: "Leicester...fast fashion sweatshops"
Jan 2020, Guardian: "Alarm over UK fast fashion factories"
Saw this earlier. Damn MSM failing to report things as usual.

In reply to Post #91 I doubt that as boohoo is joint owned.
I'd imagine their workforce/ supply chain includes BAME workers being exploited too so ....

In reply to Post #89 Maybe the authorities don't want to be accused of picking on BAME.?
