Just take the lead out and then itís a lead less leader
I do this with loops at the ends of mainLine and the leader

How far are you sending bags? I use the XS bags and 2oz leads, once packed you're looking at 4-4.5oz. Should be no bother to 100+ yds without any shock leader. If its just a leader for the bag to tie round, as has been mentioned the bag stems are spot on. A word of caution from unfortunate experiance, if you're dropping the lead, be careful when packing the bag down not to pack it too hard, i have had pellets nick the mainline where it travels over the side of the lead. I now use goundbait/powdered boilie arround the lead in the bag. I was trying to make them like a bullet mind, thought it may make up for my lack of casting technique!

This. Leadcore is not a shock leader.
Just carry on with whatever you've been using but use a PVA bag stem instead of leadcore.

Mono straight through is no more likely to crack off than using a leadcore leader

Usually when lead core is banned so are all other leaders? In my experience anyway.

Korda do a tapered mainline that i know a lot of guys use, something like 40lb at one end, 12lb at t'other.

Hi all,

Hope you are all safe well and enjoying tight lines.

I really enjoy using pva bags as my go-to set up, but more and more venues are banning lead core leaders (rightly or wrongly a whole different discussion ) so with that in mind can anyone recommend a shock leader substitute rather than going straight through with monofilament and suffering from crack offs?

Any advice greatly appreciated

Thanks

Alex
