I too make a fair trip to Linear, probably 2 1/1-2 3/4 hours each way, so always fear getting there and not being able to get a swim. I've done this 5 or 6 times now, and not once have I failed to find a swim. It gets busy for sure, and maybe pairing up will be difficult, but you should be able to grab something if you can get there for gates opening on the 9th.

If you can't get on B1/B2 they have numerous other good waters that can produce just as well as the previously mentioned. Hardwick/Smiths has some belting looking carp in it, and, from personal experience there, is probably the least fished on the complex. I wouldn't ignore it, and you should be able to get on it close enough together also.

With regards to pegs, this will mostly depend on the day itself and which lake you can get on, and as you won't know until you get there it would be impossible to even comprehend at this stage, IMO. I believe corn/hemp/and your chosen boilie to be the 'go to mix' at Linear, and it's never let me down either. Also put some maggots out but not loads, like some anglers do! Rigs, stick to what you're confident with. I'd say fish shoal up on quite a few lakes, not just at Linear, safety in numbers and all that.

I think there are a few nice lakes around the Oxford area, so worth a Google, but from memory you got Orchid, Linch Hill & Chad Lakes, though I have limited experience on these.

Hope this helps.

Hi All,

Im looking for a bit of help regarding a trip im taking with a friend on the 9th July, We are looking at heading down to Linear to fish either B1 or B2 for 72 hours . We have never been to the place before as its roughly 3hrs 30minutes from us but we have heard a lot of good things.

As we have not fished the complex we know very little about it such as, good pegs, bait mixes, Rigs ect. Do the fish shoal up anywhere and so on. Can anyone give any hints, tips and tricks to help us get some fish out and avoid the blank :D Also would you look at fishing any other waters on the complex? Ideally where not bothered about having a monster out we would rather just bank a few 20s.

Also due to corona from what i see on facebook the complex has been rammed for weeks to the point there is only 2-3 pegs free on lakes some days and others is completly full. Is there any other good waters around that could possibly be a back up as 7hrs of driving and no fishing would just bea disaster.

Thanks for the help as always guys.
