I have now had a phone call from them, and had a fairly long conversation with Dave who sorted my refund out.
They have had a fair amount of issues due to corona virus, and are struggling to keep things up to standard.

We spoke about the lack of communication from them, and to be fair to Dave, he hadnt anticipated some of the issues that arose from lockdown, but is trying to put things in place to smooth the flow of communication now, and to prevent the same problems happening again.

With regards to my own order, he had apparently tried to refund me at the beginning of June, but assumed my name on facebook was my full name (not the case for privacy reasons) and had used that to do the refund, but it didnt get accepted.

All sorted now, but highlights what I said about communication.
If they had contacted me at the time they were doing the refund, then that issue could have been prevented.

Anyway, the problem has been resolved.

One other thing he said was that they have had issues with a minority of people making false claims of non-delivery.
He is now refering suspected fake non delivery claims to the fraud deptartment of (i assume) the courier company, as the deliveries are tracked.

Ordered leads about 6 weeks ago and got them later that week. Can only assume you have been unlucky as I have had no issues in any order I have placed, but accept I have not needed to use their customer service so can't comment on that side of things

I placed an order in mid May, chased up end of May on faceache and they said it had been sent out. I received it in the next day or two but just got bait and no leads... Chased them again and they said the leads got missed and posted them out... Must be struggling due to current pressures but hopefully you hear from them soon, they did seem responsive around the start of the month

I ordered bait and leads from them recently. They messed up on the leads ast they sent me the wrong type. I couldn't get hold of anyone and my emails were not answered but out of nowhere i received the correct leads along with a load more bait!! Very happy with the outcome but would have been great if they had actually communicated with me.

It is an odd time for people at the moment so I will definitely use them again and hope everything is running smoothly by then.

Anyone else on here having issues with Barrs Angling?

I have an outstanding order, and have tried to resolve the issue with Barrs over the last 6 weeks, but there has been NO response to any of my emails, the phone always goes to voicemail, my message has not recieved any acknowledgement.

If you check their facebook page, you'll find others in the same position.

I know they are still trading as some customers are posting they recieved their orders ok (within the last week).

I can only conclude that they are happy to continue processing new orders, but are ignoring any problems from existing/outstanding orders.

They posted in May some photos of orders apparently being shipped.

And before anyone mentions it, yes I am aware of corona virus issues.
I have taken that into account, but it doesn't stop someone from keeping up with admin/answer emails/update social media etc, from a computer at home/away from the business premises if thats safer to do.

Check their facebook post from 11/05/2020, and especially the responses to those posts, you'll get a good idea of the issues.
