Last time I passed Pendle view it had Harris fencing across the old entrance and a load of those boards stuck on it with building site rules on.

Had a look online at The Rising Fishery. I'll bear it in mind.
I've booked us an overnight at Waterfarm Fishery in Bury next weekend....its very Local n fish look good but not convinced of stock level. We'll see......

Berts Pool look as "fishy" as I've ever seen a pond. Lovely margins, overhanging trees, island. I'll definitely get on this summer.....

It's 'sparse' up there isn't it?

Berts Pool is where I fished previously. Every time I went, there was a bloke bivvied up near the entrance on the 1st peg - i was convinced he lived there. I remember doing well on zigs fishing just out from the island from the bottom corner peg.

An other nice spot you could try for the kids is The Rising Fishery just outside Padiham. 3 ponds - one is fly only, but the Cauldron and Broomstick are good for a mixed bag (some lovely crucians in there) and some fair sized carp too. I was up there last weekend for the afternoon. Wasn't fishing well for anyone (same as a lot of places right now if the 'post lockdown' thread is to be believed), but it's a lovely little fishery and really well run.

Chris has an onsite cafe and tackle shop with peg / take out service at the moment for coffee / bacon buns etc. He also has bait in stock too

Ocelot - I'd no idea what happened up at Pendle View. Hadn't fished it for ages and was going to go up for a bit a good while back only to be told in my local tackle shop that it was closed. There were some very good fish in there.... I always found it a bit cliquey but I caught some decent carp so couldn't complain

Just been upto Hillside. The general layout is bleak n signage very poor but the lakes themselves look plush.
Did a couple of hours on pleasure Lake with the kids n got a plenty of roach n bream.
Had a sneaky look at "Berts Pool".....look awesome, just my type of pond.

What's happened with Pendle view Mal, they were changing it to some kind of glamping site weren't they. What happened with the fish, the big Dutch common "Lancashire record" and it's mates?

Fished Hillside a bit when it first opened. Well stocked with simmos at the time up to about 25lb ish from memory.

Not been for a few years ... might have to give it another go

Not sure what the bonkers time rule is about at bradshaws though... I'll be giving that one a miss I think.

Thanks for that mate, your not the first person to recommend Chester fisheries, Iíll give it a go it sounds the perfect place to get him in to the carping, need to go some where thereís a good chance of catching a few so he enjoys it, if I can get him in to it Iíll be able to get out more!

Donít think the lad would appreciate a 5.30 wake up call... donít know what there thinking with them start/ finish times at Bradshaw hall!?

exactly my thoughts mate.
Have a look at Chester Lakes. We've hammered it over last 12 months. Literally dozens on most visits. He's had carp upto 13lb there but wants something bigger hence us looking elsewhere for a change.
Got my eye on Hillside Fishery.......

Just had a quick look at Bradshawís as Iím in a similar position looking for some where to take my lad. The lake can only be booked 24hrs at a time so no days, which is fine. But fishing is 7am start and have to be off 6.30am following morning..., Never seen them times before, thatís an early pack away!
