I actually got a rebate earlier in the year around July 360£ I even waited for them to send the cheque rather than applying on line just in case they they got it wrong
This week I got a letter from the tax man wanting 400 odd quid

In reply to Post #4 Taxes taxes taxes-how much can you rip off the people of your own country! Instead of the population getting richer, the money settles it is unclear where. And no matter how many people would not argue that our tax system is the most transparent and reliable, I am sure that the money does not float away for peaceful purposes at all. Look at the weapons of these extremists in Afghanistan! Who can prove to me that all this was not bought with my paid taxes! How tired I am of all this. I run a small business and constantly order tax reports from ThePayStubs. At least they work honestly.

Been stung by a few of these now...
Once the cheque clears from the Ugandan lottery I’ll be ok though

In reply to Post #2 I keep on getting the TV licensing as well.
Got an email today to sign a petition, maybe genuine but binned just to be on the safe side.

In reply to Post #1 Lot of them about - phone scams from supposed HMRC money collectors too.
Just had my second one from 'TV licensing' in the last 2 months saying my direct debit hasn't gone through - loads of links to click for resetting details, pay now etc.
report as scam and delete
