Only had a couple of heavy showers and plenty of drizzle here, just enough to push the fish into a slack behind a bend.

It wouldn't be that much of a surprise from this river, probably 3 years back now 15oz to 1lb 2 could be a bite a chuck on a good day, there's another bumper year class now at 6-7oz plus a decent head of small roach that make it hard to pick up the bigger dace though.

Got a bit distracted with an idea for a photo I didn't have the kit for, might do another early morning later in the week.

What was the dancy track, probably late 90s, gallagher vocals and a samurai themed video? I'm drawing a bank on Google.
Just because I'm working in Shoreditch tomorrow, home of the samurai

just found this, looks/sounds nothing like I remember

now that would've been a surprise!

I'm thinking of getting my float rod out and fishing the river out in front of the house where the road used to be!

edit - weather inspired...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15kWlTrpt5k - madonna

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKopy74weus - imagine dragons

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbPVnvG5Bw4 - Prince (genius)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5aZJBLAu1E - dare you to listen and it not stick in your head all day...

Yeah some decent dace, did get a bit overexcited when a 1 1/2lb chub came in, it had a damaged pec so I thought it was a dace at first glance

hmmmm - good point. GnR were pushing it with 2 double albums on the same day!

how about 'The Wall?'...

Metallica's 'Black Album' came out as a double albeit with a relatively small number of songs and there isn't a moment of waste on there.

Also the 'War of the Worlds' album? Maybe a slightly different genre but still ace.

did you catch?

It was straight to work from the river for me

There should be a law against double albums, I can't think of any that wouldnt have been one strong album and a few half decent b side tracks at most

Chilli peppers and biffy Clyro come to mind

Bought those two double albums the day they came out and went home and played from start to finish...

Axl was in full on power trip mode back then but still producing some brilliant songs. Estranged is my favourite from there (posted on here already) and November Rain is a classic.

Found that Motörhead a while back and it popped up again yesterday. Did you ever do sound for them?
'Just turn everything up to 10 mate. That should do it...'

Duggs I hope you are stopping by the garage for some flowers on the way home. Can't beat the forecourt bouquet when you roll in smelling of riverbanks

Noj

Duggs - Birdy's version for me. Love that Jade Bird track never heard it before.

Movie wise - have you seen 'Yesterday'? I've mentioned it before. Great music. Clever little story and very romantic for cuddles with mrs Duggs

edit - The Killers - damn fine band

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQtXxgAAXEk - my favourite of theirs (venus in furs influenced maybe?)

'All these things' a great song and the video reminds me of the old 'Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill, Kill' B movie. Which reminded me of these guys who I saw supporting Guns n Roses a LONG time ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8V3N6M0toQ - tinhead's phone number?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKIPI47hV6A - that film again...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV1nVSI92jQ - worth it just for the 2nd line..!

Hot fuss was/is a brilliant album, I've played it to death and rarely listen to the singles from it these days

I will sneak this one into a playlist though

Trying to decide on a film to watch with the mrs, was very nearly this film on soundtrack alone

"All these things" had so many twisted lyrics, my favourite was "I've got pills but I'm not a Pilchard"

Forgotten just how good they were to be honest...
