I thought it was'nt so much the travel out which is the problem (French borders opening 15th June)
but more the 14 day quarantine on returning to the UK after the 8th June?

I realise it will be hard to enforce it but there will be checks and if you are working will your employers
be happy for you to break it? (unless you have a 3 week holiday!)

The 100km rule has been lifted and as the uk.have brought in the quarantine rule from.monday I would assume it would be ok to travel from Monday otherwise why introduce it on the 8th if the borders not open

Isn't the border still closed with the 100km travel limit in place for the French.
I know it is hoped this will be lifted shortly but I thought it is currently still in place.

I would imagine they'd rather you left the country than go stay in a hotel somewhere where there will be more chance of giving it to someone.

If it's voluntary the French would do nothing....it's voluntary. If something is voluntary and you don't do it then it's your choice. You can say to people " it's up to you if you quarentine or not" and then when they don't say" oh you haven't quarentined so you need to stay here for a other week or two".

The website says 14 days quarantine. Voluntary or not, where would someone stand if they tried to travel back before the 14 day period? Would the french authorities stop the journey home? Would they then force a further 14 days?

It's voluntary. No need to quarentine here in France for UK anglers. I thought this part of the French government website statement was quite clear.
Similarly, travellers coming from the United Kingdom, regardless of nationality, will be requested to carry out voluntary quarantine once the British quarantine measures officially enter into force.

From the same website....For travellers arriving from inside the European space (European Union Member States, the United Kingdom, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, Holy See), the borders are not closed but will still be subject to certain restrictions on movement as part of border controls.

Most anglers only go for a week to 10 days. Does that mean you have to stay in France for a minimum of 14 days ? If you travel to and from a venue in that 14 day window, surely that means you haven't complied with the 14 day quarantine?

I'm nor trying to be awkward, but to my eyes, it still looks rather vague

Travellers arriving by air from Spain will be invited to carry out a voluntary quarantine from Monday, 25 May. This applies to Span ish and French nationals and all other nationalities. Similarly, travellers coming from the United Kingdom, regardless of nationality, will be requested to carry out voluntary quarantine once the British quarantine measures officially enter into force.
