So you'll have to do two weeks in France instead of one. Difficult sell to the missus but I'd give it a go.

I guess the issue will be is if the UK enforce a 14 day quarantine for people arriving from France, will France do the same for people entering France from the UK..

It happened before, I can see this happening again if so..

You need to complete a contact form before coming back to the UK. It's a pain but not exactly difficult and can be done with a smartphone NP. Eurotunnel send you a message asking you to do it, failure to do it could result in a 100 fine.

Border control wasn't really bothered about it so I think you could reasonably be confident to just leave it.

I'm out again this Friday and am prepared if I need to quarenteen upon return....

I think it's more political point scoring than based on a need through infection figures.

But France and Italy numbers are still well below our numbers. Spain's numbers on the other hand are over double

I would imagine if France are still accepting travellers but the UK impose quarentine or close borders your chances of a refund from a fishery will shrink dramatically.

Nope . France and Italy have seen recent increases and the U.K. Gov are definitely keeping an eye on both . The official line is we are reviewing both countries on a daily basis which translated means we can f@&%k up your holiday plans with 4 hours notice !! ... 😭😭😭

My understanding was if you were returning from Spain you have to self isolate for 14 days on return.
TUI then cancelled all flights to Spain.
This was due to a sudden spike in cases.
I believe France has cases well under control and there are no sounds coming out of France to suggest any change in travel to France.
