MANY THANKS for ya review

whats your opinion on the 5,000mm HH ripstop material that its made from is it very thin? cheers!

We are going to get a LOT of rain this month (i got that info from a SECRET source lol;-)

so this will be a real TEST of the Wychwood Tactical Brolly...do post guys how its coping in the many days of rain.

I can still hold out with my old well-worn Trakker 50 Inch Brolly for another month or so, until i decide...

BTW, Wychwood do indeed still honour their 5-year warranty. *BUT*

its ONLY for the products made from: 10,000mm hydrostatic head HD ripstop material.

*NO 5-year warranty [Wychwood Tactical Brolly] for products made from: 5,000mm HH ripstop material .

Yep, it's not like my old Fast and Light which fans out far easier, however the wychwood one seems better made dare I say it. More rigidity, thicker spokes, rear vents etc etc. The additional bar that goes along the peak is a good touch, as are the mesh pockets.

Over time, I think the toggles for the mesh pockets and the clips for the storm poles will be the first to go, but I'm impressed so far. Nice bit of room at the back, but a lack of space at the front to keep a bivvy table under cover without pushing the bedchair right back which may cause condensation issues.

My only other criticisms would be the height and the quality of the storm poles. I think the kid in the factory sneezed when he was doing the spiral points for the storm poles. George Best levels of co-ordination.

I bought my solar sp brolly from total fishing tackle for £130 but not sure what they sell it for now. Great brolly. Don’t let the advertised weight put u off. It’s wrong

You are right they are very very low ! But I would NEVER buy a shelter without rear vents
But I use mine on the river of the wind swept banks of the Trent
I heard the solar brolly is heavily discounted now?

I looked at one of these and thought it was as low as an Atom.......If your a hobbit great, If not its worth looking at other systems that are higher and better made.......

I dislocated my shoulder and ended up on a hospital ward all night putting mine up Thursday - true story.

Its currently up in the garden so hopefully it stretches to make that not an issue going forward!

Nothing against Wychwood though, not their fault i'm weak!

true.

still they would honor a manufacturer's 1 year guarantee?

cos at the end of the day, if there are issues you're gonna see them soon as ya start using the brolly ...especially in torental  heavy rain!

After sales is a big thing, I've had several companies they don't want to know if anything goes wrong. Avid being one of them.

depends if you look after your gear but I would be happy for 5 years until this year Wychwood brollys all came with a 5 year warrantee
but their aftersales is one of the best imo
I now know there are a couple of river anglers up north that have them and love them with no issues there were some teething issue initially but wychwood HAS NOW refunded or replaced with the perfect product IMHO

@oldgeezer - in your opinion how long do you think the 'Wychwood Tactical Brolly' would last?

anyway, hope you guys post over the next few months with your continued comments/reviews now that night fishing has reopened.

cheers for any replies!
