It may come as a shock but teachers aren't stupid... (mostly)

The request for staff to supervise smaller cohorts of children is made with the understanding that some staff may be single and healthy whilst others may have family and health considerations

Those who volunteer will do so without pressure and with a real desire to do what is best for the students and their families and their fellow staff members. Senior management will be stepping up to do their part too.

Who's going to care for your already sick kids and all the other patients that have the usual ailments (they haven't gone away) if there's no-one working in the health care system cause they're at home looking after their children, cause there's no teacher's to open a few critical schools?
Why ask the rhetorical question in post 265 then?

That’s ok for the teacher then to take it back home to their family......

Then again they do have a choice of no or yes to do it.

Personally with my poor families health ‘child with a brain tumour along with a fcuked up immune system’ that struggles to fight off infections etc etc which would probably kill her then NO I wouldn’t do it.

Petty someone didn’t think to think on before getting accused with that old saying ‘I’m allright Jack’. Not you I might add.

1 teacher supervising a class of Kids could mean 20+ NHS or Emergency Services workers can turn up for their shift.

Not a direct reply but for peoples info

Just seen on Tesco website if you are isolating, as we are, you need to put some notes in the comments section about this and they will drop stuff in carrier bags at the point you suggest and telephone you to let you know its there!

Any business can lay you off. Just depends what lay off terms you have if any. Most I'd imagine have non. I know a lot Trade Union negotiated deals have provision for employees to be paid during lay offs. Either with the paid hour's going into a bank for the employer to call back in the future. Or a set time of 3 week's full pay 3 week's half pay etc. There'll be many in the deep stuff work/cash wise in the coming months. The majority under 70.

But the begging he's done to bail the industry out is laughable considering it was him that sued the NHS not so long back. Man is a parasite. Bet he's sat there on his island now isolating himself away from the world, working out who he can shaft next
