My best guess (see what I did there) would be that there's been a big increase in requests for testing as we've had the bulk of the local lockdowns up here.

Coupled with the extra demand with schools going back (colleagues at work have definitely had precautionary tests over the last week) it's going to put that pressure on the system that clearly has some issues with waiting times and sending people hundreds of miles etc.

Like I say it's guess work based on just those simple factors...

Quite an interesting read.

Social issues, President / Prime Minister lol, immigration, Economy, health care and Environmental to pick a few key topics. I would go along with that

A couple of genuine questions I'd like to ask you and it's not to start an argument. I'd just like your opinion please, I may not agree with it but.......
Is the testing system really in collapse and meltdown in the NW or is it just running at full capacity?
Why tell Stokebloke to forget and accept only one side of the story? I thought you didn't like cover ups?

The testing system is close to collapse , it is in meltdown , that comes from someone in charge of overseeing testing in the north west !

Stoke man , forget the political hegemony surrounding covid 19 it's a story you will only get one side of in the west !

We've suspected it was over here longer than we were led to believe, its now confirmed. The Chinese government new what they were doing when it kicked off in Wuhan. They stopped all travel from there into the rest of China yet allowed them to fly around the world effectively sticking two fingers up to the rest of the planet! Lovely people the Chinese have a lot of respect for them. But the f*****s in charge have blood on there hands. Sadly, I fear they will get away it but the dust will never settle over this.

Similar to me. Everybody seems to want blood from the politicians now. I still want it from the ****s who started it, you know, root cause

Itís a worldwide pandemic that will kill millions and cripple economies worldwide. How about all these poor people in the back of beyond, nobody is reporting the real figures, thatís a major problem for me. Itís turning into a humanitarian and economic disaster and we will just have to put up with it

Sounds like I should go back around 15 pages of this thread, how things have moved on

Best way to be Paul

Way too many people view success or failure of the government's covid-19 strategy purely through a death rate% or economically. It's always been a bigger picture in my view. Taking away our civil freedom is a huge part for me. I've hated it, but have followed the rules as best I can understand them. Now we've a new tranche of rules imposed without debate from Monday. With fines, and marshalls to impose them on the public. Rules for meeting relatives or friends in care homes/hospitals/ respite centers/ your or their homes etc. That may be terminally ill or have serious debilitating illnesses like dementia. I've said before I'll abide by the rules but if someone that matters to me is in a bad way no-one is telling me I can't see them. The more mistakes this government makes the more will die, the more the country will suffer economically and the more freedoms will be taken away, arbitrary it now seems. So constructive criticisms and scrutiny of the current government and coming to your own conclusions are more important than they've ever been in my lifetime. Certainly more important than what colour rosette you pin on your chest every few years....

Yes but only builders and a fortnight old copy of the sun will do because even thatís still a way ahead of some of them
I donít think anyone would disagree that the government have made mistakes. But to be fair with an isolation period of 2 weeks for active cases and a 3 month lockdown, people only have themselves to blame if you do the pretty simple maths. Most were paid to sit at home ffs but it was too much to ask

Plenty of polls...the ones the tories relied on and called accurate around the election... have been finding more people think the government have done a bad job for months now. Itís just increased and increased.
