In reply to Post #564 Hi Jeff,
That's awful news and please convey my deepest sympathies to all those concerned.
My daughter in her forties is a staff nurse at the Norfolk and Norwich University hospital and I worry about her well being.
Follow the guidelines and stay safe.
BB.

In reply to Post #569 They are indeed, there is a meeting of industry leaders later on tonight to try and get us shut down. The works within Parliament were suspended at 9ish last night indefinitely

In reply to Post #556 There's bound to be self employed people working when they shouldn't when the only option is benefits.
So surprised Boris hasn't set up some kind of temporary National bank system. If you can prove you've been working in the last several weeks you can have access to upto x number of £'s weekly. If that be on an interest free loan or some other system. Take the immediate threat of financial hardship away. Lots of self employed people live week by week, job by job and have kids to feed.

In reply to Post #564 Sorry for your news.
Now we will start to find out who are the real heroes not footballers, pop stars, you tubers, celebrities or politicians. It will be emergency service workers, NHS, drivers and the menial side of employment who make everyday sacrifices.
Please after this is over lets not forget, belittle or play down the role of essential workers through this. To all those celebrities isolating in their mansions maybe a bit of payback to society is due and acknowledgement to the real heroes takes place.

In reply to Post #564 Sorry to hear that Jeff.
Particularly sad given her chosen job helping people through this.
They don't call our nurses and hospital staff angels for nothing

In reply to Post #560 I thought they were contacting the high risk group by letter so I'd be not opening a dodgy text.
Loads of traffic about my way this morning
Lots of essential work or shopping going on it seems
Edit - just seen on news that all mobile networks are sending out a stay at home text
I just had a call from Sun Life over 50'S insurance asking if I want to take out a policy to cover rising funeral costs.. not too subtle!

My Cashley isn’t closing his shops so get down there and get yourselves an essential pair of trainers.
In the meantime the self employed stay at home as it isn’t essential for you to go to work.
What 30110ck5.
Edit - I guess someone in government in the past couple hours have leaned on Ashley.

Just had a text from gov_uk rather than gov.uk with a link. Very sceptical about this so beware it was just saying stay home and any questions click the link, not you are on the shielding register or anything like that so deleted it! Does anyone know if this is kosher or a scammer. We have 5 mobiles in our house and I am the only one to get this 😡
So beware 👍🏻

In reply to Post #556 Similar here, kitchen for a young family, probably need 4 days to finish but since the order was screwed up I won't get what I need to finish it. I'll do today and give them some cupboard space and the appliances and that'll be it I think
