Hi noj,

I've looked online and found a report on how the daily death numbers are recorded and see what you were saying.
What threw me was the statement that only 140 deaths were recorded for today, which didn't make sense to me.
I assumed that was meant to be the true figure, because they didn't explain that they were the only figures to be presented and that more figures for that day were still due to come in and would be added to whatever day they were presented on.
However, although the deaths are not all recorded on the actual day they occurred, the graph still shows the trajectory of the deaths in number over timeframe.

It makes no sense to anybody, thats the point.
Im saying they are inaccurate in the way they are presented and not to be taken as gospel for total of losses of life per day; the graphs/charts/figures can be played down, sensationalised or completely misinterpreted as it is the deaths recorded... not those that have taken place.
I wont even mention the fact hospitals are rife with cv, so somebody with heart failure or similar may have contracted the virus on a ward and had it recorded as the cause.
Those bbc graphs are for us plebs, not the government and medical professionals.

I can't remember being told , except for channel 4 that the true figures are around double what the graphs suggest !

why not just double the figure , it would be more accurate !

All this week they have pressed the point that the daily figures aren't accurate, but averaged over a few days gives a fairly accurate guide. They also note that many deaths on the weekends don't go onto the records until later in the week

So , why don't they update the graphs

why don't they update the figures , they know the true figures ! they are just under double what they keep telling us

!the true figures are between 33 - 200 % more than they state at the daily briefings

the largest discrepancy was on 26th March , gov figures 713 deaths , ons figures 1411

So knowing this , why don't they update their figures , it's political dynamite that's why ! the early herd immunity ideology has cost 1000's of lives we didn't act as we should of , a failed economic policy ! also Someone was on holiday , was it for 2 weeks !
the DHSC figure for deaths in hospitals in the UK up to 27 March was 926. Yet the corresponding ONS figure for England and Wales only was 1,568. For 7 April, the DHSC figure for the UK was 5,655. But based on previous ONS figures, Channel 4 News showed that the figure for deaths in that period could be around 9,573. And even that figure is too low, for the whole UK, as it excludes Scotland and the north of Ireland.

the man in charge is a compulsive liar , what do you expect !

Hi noj,

I'm sorry, but it still makes no sense to me.
If they can accurately say that 140 deaths occurred in the last 24 hours, then that follows that they can accurately record the daily deaths for any day. I would assume that at a set time every day, the last 24 hour death numbers are gathered from each hospital. That would be very easy to do. Anyway, as you say, the remaining deaths were between the 1-7th of march. Then, why weren't those deaths recorded on the days they occurred?
On the graph of deaths, from march 14 to today April 9 is 26days and in that time frame is the almost 8000 deaths to date. Divide that by 26 days gives an average of about 300 deaths. But we know the deaths weren't averaged out and took a steep upward curve, so to say there were only 140 today doesn't make sense.
The chief medical officer today, made the point that the daily rates of deaths and new infections he showed on the graphs, gave them almost real time info to assess progress and would offer the chance to change any tactics with little time lag, so as to get maximum benefit from them.
He also made the point that the other deaths in nursing homes etc. we're not included because the method of recording them was too time lagged to give them fast assessment.

Edit. My brain hurts.

Hi Ocelot,

Nobody does anything for no reason, there's always a motive.
You know full well why I pointed that out, to show that it's pointless and being on an open forum, people might not want to make themselves look foolish.
