In reply to Post #1224 Far to much fear being spread, lots of don’t knows and could be but hard to pin down facts other than people are dying! Yes it’s contagious, yes it’s not the FLU but my god it’s making normal people act in some very strange ways nowadays and anxiety is going through the roof for some people! Most of which have more chance of winning the lottery than dying from this virus!!

In reply to Post #1223 You'd hope it was reactivation in a few cases rather than reinfection. That's the understandable "fear".

In reply to Post #1222 “Fear of reinfection” not actual reinfection. Everywhere I’ve seen it written about the experts are saying they believe it’s re-activation of the virus not a reinfection. It’ll be interesting to see what they find because at the minute reinfection is not proven. Neither is reactivation. But it can only be one or the other. You’d assume it’s reactivation, hence the way people can seemingly recover and then take a turn for the worse, exactly like BJ did.

In reply to Post #1221 Guardian.
"South Korea reported Friday that almost 100 patients thought to have recovered from the new coronavirus had tested positive again, sparking fears that populations could become re-infected with COVID-19.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that 91 people who had previously been cleared of the virus had tested positive. The KCDC had said the number had risen from 51 cases reported earlier in the week."

In reply to Post #1218 Not with everyone it seems, they lose the protective antibody after an unknown period.

Like I said, reinfection.
"According to Li QinGyuan, director of pneumonia prevention and treatment at China Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing, those who have been infected with Covid-19 develop a protective antibody - but it isn’t clear how long the protection lasts.
"However, in certain individuals, the antibody cannot last that long," Li told USAToday. "For many patients who have been cured, there is a likelihood of relapse."
In children, it is currently believed that the virus causes the development of “at least short-term immunity”.

In reply to Post #1215 From what I’ve read it’s re-activation not re-infection. Two different things.

In reply to Post #1213 Look at Iceland, I know it’s a lot smaller population and all but they’ve tested a load of their population and found most of them have had or have covid19 already. Obviously if the testing thing in that video is true it doesn’t relate to much but on the basis of if you’ve had it you are unlikely to be affected badly by it from re-activation, not re-infection (which is being misreported) most of the population can get back to normal(ish) life.
Conspiracy theories are just that though. I saw a Facebook post from an anti-EU group which stated that the EU were in cahoots with China to get this to postpone brexit because they can’t do without Britain Just ignoring the deaths in Europe like they don’t exist.
People will spin anything for their own agenda and most things can be linked to something else in a tenuous way. Reported today that the Wuhan lab was funded $3 million by the states for the research in to coronavirus strains. Someone somewhere will be telling us that trump and China are in cahoots to rule the world and the animosity is all a charade.

In reply to Post #1212 Very worrying, those cases are coming from South Korea, who are aggressively testing so are probably reliable. It was always an issue with a herd immunity strategy, how long you could remain clear from reinfection was unknown.

In reply to Post #1213 The fact the government takes down a video from a 67 years old man with no real following and YouTube changes its policy over night is slightly telling IMO......bit like Tommy Robinson being shut down for telling the truth!!

So this is the interview that all the fuss is about, don’t blame me, a Mexican friend of mine found it and sent me the link😂, I hate to say it but it’s actually worth a quick listen if you’ve got nothing better to do, at least the first bit about testing and numbers
