I wonder which tactic will be most effective ... Trump's attempt to re-write history and blame the WHO for the problems in the USA, or Johnson keeping his head down so the public associate Matt Hancock and Dominic Raab with the death stats and constant PPE problems, before coming back as the numbers subside, the plucky bulldog who has finally vanquished the foreign plague (as opposed to the lazy bulldog who's had his feet up at Chequers, licking his balls).
I reckon both plans will work a treat.

Scroll down for Trump.

In reply to Post #1368 That’s the one
The Chinese knew what was going off and as usual will have just tried to cover it up until the penny dropped, oh ****
And as for WHO funding my arse. Country’s have a duty of care, put your hand up, that’s what it’s all about !
From the WHO site
For health emergencies, we:
prepare for emergencies by identifying, mitigating and managing risks
prevent emergencies and support development of tools necessary during outbreaks
detect and respond to acute health emergencies
support delivery of essential health services in fragile settings.
Guess he has a point, they either failed in their duties or didn’t get the nod?

In reply to Post #1386 So the usual negative stuff you post then. Something you don't think is working in your individual favour, quit. Don't work at it cause it's the right thing to do. Just quit in a strop. Take your ball home.
You don't need worldwide unity to achieve your goals. There's many treaties and organisations that do using the tools the members/signatories agree on.
The problem comes when the leader of the democratic world(cough) vacates the stage. Vacuums have a habit of being filled, sometimes by people you don't want.

In reply to Post #1385 Hiya BB
I saw Nancy Pelosi and the tearing up of the paper. To be honest I was more disappointed that she'd stooped to the same childish level as Trump than anything else.
I agree that their politics is devisive and vindictive. They make nasty and hurtful remarks about people on a personal level. Trump as much as anyone else. Not much point you and I going round in circles on this one.
however...
getting back on the thread track... (hopefully)
i think his decision regarding the WHO is a tactic to shift blame regarding the virus spread in the US
Edit - Ken - thanks for that. it's brilliant

In reply to Post #1384 don't recall speaking favourably of the chinese economic system.
i did say that destroying it would have a knock on effect to world economy given the way it's all linked. (for example they might try to call in some of the Trillion dollar debt from the US...). I've posted a couple of times about the way British business happily looks the other way when they can get cheap labour and manufacture in China....
I have denounced their human and animal right activity before - along with other countries closer to home with similar issues.
as for your comments regarding family - I'd ask you not to imply that mine aren't 'REAL' in any shape or form. That is something you really don't know about.
and i'm not dangerous. i have a pet cat for goodness sake.

In reply to Post #1380 Hi Ocelot,
I was just pointing out with an example, that your wistful wish for a world unity is naïve.
You have more chance of being struck by lightning.

In reply to Post #1378 Hi Mal,
In the US, the media is almost all left wing. There is very little counterbalance. And our media mirror it.
I gave you some examples, but I don't think you are fully aware of how divisive and vindictive US politics is.
Can you imagine the uproar and vilification if, in our parliament, a Labour chancellor stood reading out his budget and then, opposite him, the Tory shadow chancellor stood up and looked straight at the TV cameras for effect, and then tore a copy of the budget speech to pieces?
Well, that's what the lead Democrat Nancy Pilosi did, stood behind Trump's back, whilst he was addressing the whole nation during the State of the Union Address. It hardly raised a murmer in their media, or ours.
You can only judge Trump fairly, in light of the constant, hysterical attacks he is confronted with.
BB.

In reply to Post #1364 [mal] How can you speak favourably of the Chinese economic system, means you clearly dont understand it.
I have worked in china, have chinese and hong kong friends, and do a lot of work that involves China.
They are TERRIBLE, the way they treat business. They steal companies IP (intellectual property), hack data from companies, especially pharmaceutical companies to steal their data and research and causing the original company to go bankrupt. They do DDOS (denial of service to bring done IT networks) attacks on UK fintech and AI, and medical companies They have taken over hundreds of gold and rear earth metal mines in africa at gun-point. They treat animals and the enviroment with absolute evil. They treat their people with absolute evil. I could go on and on...
...and you have 'Peace and Love' in you're signature? I'm from a REAL family of REAL hippies (not so much anymore tho), you're dangerous!!
