Hi Jon,

I'm impressed. Not many SJWs seem to have a sense of humour. Too busy being in woke mode.

I have a question for you, but going on past form, you refuse to answer ones that you don't like, and I'm not holding my breath, but, do you agree, we as a rich country, should have a moral duty not to actively recruit medics from poorer countries who have funded their training and where they are probably needed more, and that we should be training the medics we need from our own population?

BB.

Whatever happened to the 'if it bores you, don't read it'
There's loads of threads I don't read such as 'best this' and 'best that' Jon but this is thread about Coronavirus. If people want to bicker than I've got no problem with that but do it elsewhere not on a life and death thread.
I've said twice now go and start a political thread where you can lay into each other, we do that on the Footy thread and those not interested avoid it.

I'll be glad when this is all over we used to have some right laughs on here didn't we Jon

Hi Mal,

Not sure of the couple of things we disagree on, you will have to elaborate, but it's ironic that you would suggest that I look at the bigger picture, when I've been suggesting the same to other posters.
Re the well being of the NHS, as you know, I have a vested interest seeing that my daughter is an NHS nurse.

Hi Greekskii,

Jeez, you're hard work at times.

You have to read my post you copied in context to the question from Mal I was answering.
He said, lucky that Luis was here before Brexit eh?
He was implying that, foreign nurses, that were available while free movement was in operation, would not be after Brexit. So I answered with the post you copied, which was asking his opinion, not giving mine.
I didn't say that foreign nurses took the jobs from anyone, because they were actually filling the vacancies that we were unable to fill from our nurse training.
In my later post, I explained that the NHS were actually recruiting from abroad to help cover the shortage that our training was unable to fill. I also explained that there were 1000s of trainees wanting to train when the bursary system was operating, because the training posts were oversubscribed by 2 to 1.
And now, the latest data is saying that, including the foreign nurses, we are increasing our number of nurses, but we are still not up to maximum requirement.
And I didn't say all nurses are female.
Stop making things up.

BB.

I can just imagine it ... Our cheeky BB spins the bailiff a yarn about a couple of 30s coming out on floating crust, waits until he sees him settled in the swim, then nips round to his house to give his Mrs a right good .... lecture on why foreigners should stay at home and the infallibility of the Tory government...

C'mon Sir B, you've been on here for donkey's years, like I have. Whatever happened to the 'if it bores you, don't read it' principle? It serves me well in avoiding threads about 'bankstick colour' or 'waters with 40s in near Wigan'

I'm as guilty as anyone of the occasional ill tempered comment (sorry Wayne, not sorry BB), but this is a subject which really is life and death for many.

People bleating about abusive comments when faced with nothing of the sort just adds to the bad feeling.

Hiya BB

I don't think we're eye to eye on a couple of things, but, as a wise man once said... 'bigger picture'

Let's hope that we really do see a more appropriate value (not just financial / political) given to the NHS - and other support services - once we come out of this eh?

back on thread track, I'm really interested as to the figures in Germany. Similar in climate and economy to us but so much better in terms of this crisis...

there must be something we can learn from there?

Warnings have been given out over on the Coronavirus and Fishing thread

It's going to be a long lockdown for some posters if they carry on with the way they are posting.
Rules
No swearing or racist comments
Unacceptable language is the simplest form of unacceptable content. Avoid sexual innuendo or explicit vocabulary, racist, religious and insulting comments. Posts which break this rule will be edited, suppressed or deleted.
Note
Users, who are repeatedly abusive, insulting and anti-social, will be banned permanently by our moderators via IP address
UNLOCKED
Read the rules above, especially the second one

I'm sure we've all been guilty of occasional rule breaking but some of us (not you BB) constantly break the rules.
It can only be a matter of time before we see someone disappearing?

That's the thing though, you don't get enough through sunlight alone. Also in the UK for example you can have incredibly low levels of vit D in your system to be considered enough, it goes back to the amount they set donkeys years ago required to stop you getting rickets and that amount still stands, joke really.

For example, the way it's measured is in 'nmo/l', (nanomoles per liter) anything over 25 is considered sufficient in the UK, to stop my cluster headaches I need to run at a blood serum level of 200 nmo/l To maintain that I need to take 10,000iu of D3 a day, that (in the UK) is considered an overdose, it isn't and it works. Have a look at what the dose of an over the counter or supermarket D3 tablet is and you'll see what we're dealing with, their 'high strength' are 1000iu at most, those won't even scratch the surface.

So when they are talking about using D3, they are talking BIG doses

Look up Cluster Headaches, the doctors have no 'fix' for it but I have been pain free for 7 years now thanks to the big D3 doses I take, on the rare occasions I see my Dr she takes notes to pass on to her other CH patients

Probably. They are using all sorts globally to try and find a way. Apart from here, apparently thereís been nothing experimental going on really treatment wise
