Drop the alert level in an attempt to divert attention from the app failure and the borrowing figures. Nice one Dom.

On top of those eye watering debt figures during COVID-19.
2.1 million claiming unemployment benefit
8.9 million on government furlough pay.
2.6 million on government self employed scheme.

Close to 14 million British worker's effectively on the dole

The fall out of CV will be terrible and the British public had a chance in 2015, 2017 and 2019 to vote and the public made those decisions. But look at the leaders of all the parties at this time all a bunch of clowns.

This is the CV thread so back on thread, did I hear right the alert level is being dropped from 4 to 3 so some good news

1.95 TRILLION £.
Don't think a couple of months of furlough payments made much of a difference.
£0.95 Trillion when we booted out that fool Gordon Brown because he was fiscally incompetent

The country is going to be in a bad place once some sense of normality returns.

But what was the government meant to do, soup kitchens, school dinners and hostels. Not casting any aspersions for anyone on here but people were happy to receive 80% in their hands and self employed loans, but where did they think it was coming from.

There is no such thing as a free lunch and we will be paying for this for years to come, but i bet every country is in the same position.

The EU are doing the same so its not just the UK.

Playing out perfectly for the Brexit Brigade.

"The UK's debt is now worth more than its economy after the government borrowed a record amount in May.

The £55.2bn figure was nine times higher than in May last year and the highest since records began in 1993.

The borrowing splurge sent government debt surging to £1.95 trillion, exceeding the size of the economy for the first time in more than 50 years."

We're back where we started before joining the EU. Sick man of Europe again? Borrowing your way into a recession doesn't look good

Totally agree with furloughed people working elsewhere if social distancing can be achieved.
No doubt all the excuses will come out if they actually tried it though

Mal reread the rest of your post. are you having a bad day? Did you pull that string

Bluetooth or a centralised database collecting who knows what. Both have downsides, unlike you the German population appreciates it's privacy and so does the state.

'They said on Jeremy Vine this morning that the plane was due for a repaint anyway'

should get some furloughed painters to do it for free... or some of the 'lads who like football' - they seemed to love union flags...

****?!!?*** plane!

'do what the Germans are doing' should have been the plan on all things C-19 it seems.

Wonder if Raab knows where Germany is?

surely this is all too overcomplicated. Google maps knows where I've been for the last 3 years since I got my phone. Even to the postcode and address - and with times too.

I reckon Boris and Cummings are trying to get one that doesn't show where THEY'VE been. Not a problem for Raab / Hancock / Williams / Patel etc. as if you just search 'a different feckin planet' then you'll find them easy enough.

I don't know that's why I asked. Let's copy it and still sing songs about the Germans

Edit
Just thought I seem to remember people saying that Bluetooth wasn't secure and they wouldn't use it.

Why does it need to? It's a Bluetooth system monitoring contact between people. Location is irrelevant. Pity Johnson and his floundering stooges didn't realise this sooner

Well if it works let's copy it but how well can it work if it doesn't record location?

They have an App that doesn't record your location. No centralised storage of data etc.
