Hi Ocelot,

As to the rest of your post. Cobbler's

So far, I've paid you the complement of answering your questions in good faith.

If you can't be bothered to reply to my comments in the same way and just respond with abuse, then I can't be bothered either.
You've posted abuse to me before, but I was giving you the benefit of the doubt.
You really need to learn some manners.

I’d imagine you’re right mate. Also the fact a lot of people in the low paid service sector who are suddenly ‘essential’ happen to have no shortage of melanin.
Without reading the article yet Mal, I’d imagine they have made every effort not to word it in such a way as to encourage Tarquin or Cuthbert to ‘mix’

Edit. Just read a paragraph or 2. Apparently they’re poor, live in small houses/flats, are fat, smoke, drink and don’t have a car

"No, I didn't say that at all.
I said that figures like daily death rates taken at face value don't tell the whole story, and need to be interpreted in light of the preventative measures being taken and the many other factors that would have an effect"

Go on then, the many other factors that are unique to us, over the countries I used. Greece, Chile, Portugal and Belgium. That are testing the same proportion of population as the UK or higher. Forget the German's and Austrians for now.

As to the rest of your post. Cobbler's

Is that just in the UK?
It probably points more to the ethnic mix in overpopulated city environments. Also the multi generational households among the asian/Arabic communities

don't worry mate - you didn't come across wrong.

unlike the Mail of course which often does!

must be a bit of a headf**k for them if the train of thought leads to the conclusion that a mixed heritage is a good thing... how are they going to process that?!?!?

Not sure about the source, I read the headline and couldn’t stomach the article.
It was just a feeling I personally had early on when the first countries were on the initial downward spiral.
Obviously the mail probably look at it from the angle that our colonial cousins need booting out for the good of the natives lol
I think the more ethnically diverse a nation is the better, because Jews and Muslims (I know they’re not a race) for example have terrible problems when the gene pool is a closed shop.
As I said, it’ll come across wrong..

Hi Spanker,

As I said, this is a coronavirus thread and I'm not willing to hyjack it to discuss pure politics.
If it continues, there will be complaints and the mods will step in.
By all means start your own thread if you wish.

Hi Ocelot,

No, I didn't say that at all.
I said that figures like daily death rates taken at face value don't tell the whole story, and need to be interpreted in light of the preventative measures being taken and the many other factors that would have an effect.
Re testing, I'm not party to all the factors and sequence of events relating to this issue, any more than you are, but in the case of Germany, I do know that they identified the need for test kits sooner than most and were in the fortunate position of having 100 Roche labs in their country and instructed them to quickly churn out test kits by the millions. To suggest that our people are sitting on their hands and not pulling out all the stops to up our testing programme is untrue. They are well aware of the need and doing all they can to improve it. I'm sure you know there is a worldwide shortage of some essential chemicals.
Apportioning blame and incompetence as you do, without knowing the full facts, is, in most cases wrong and unfair on those you tar with the same brush.
It seems that you and one or two others are biased in your opinions and refuse to give credit where it's due and just focus on throwing mud to see if it will stick.

BB.

Hi Butterbean ,

that's a pathetic comparison , as you know , we all know of the economic pressure america is putting on Venezuela and the ideology of their foreign policy to cripple it ,
America like their corrupt puppet regimes as their companies get too exploit their assets ! surely you know how it works , Iraq , syria , Iran etc ,we don't care what these leaders do as long as they play ball , as soon as they nationalize their countries assets they become the enemy , you don't get to be the worlds largest empire by playing nicely !

If you want a more accurate comparison look to the Nordic countries which all rate way higher than us or America , in things that are a good barometer , ie , happiness , low levels of corruption , living standards and an NHS , question the voices that condemn their system !

Communism = has never existed , closest we ever came was Cuba , its a lie by a corrupt establishment scared of loosing power and their wealth , look what Finland did to beat it and question why you know so little about how well these Nordic countries are doing ,
This guy will explain far better than i can only 4 1/2 mins long ,

Why Venezuela and not Norway as a comparison?
