Yeah - could've been an accident. I don't think there'll ever be a definitive answer tbh. And I can't see a country that is constantly treated with mistrust suddenly becoming an open book, so they will be treated with more mistrust... - it's a vicious circle isn't it?

As for the US figures, of course you can use different statistics - or choose not to if you're boris - but their reaction is rightly being questioned and criticised. I guess that's what happens when you put the idiot in charge of the village eh?

Trump and his cronies are obviously trying to deflect with the focus on China - it's not even subtle (not his strong point of course). Just wait until someone tells him there's a strain of flu called avian flu (and then explains what 'avian' means)
At least his supporters are already tooled up ready to blow the little suckers out of the sky...

Both gone off at tangents there ,
I'm sure that China has 10's of thousands of samples , probably 10 times more than any other nation , kept in labs designed for the purpose , i am saying that if not needed then they should be destroyed by these smaller labs "unsafe environments " as i previously stated !

Do you not remember Trump in the early days stating "China has done a fantastic job " regarding containment and it's general handling of the crisis , then it became political for him , he changed the narrative to suite his political agenda and save himself by shifting the "blame " away from his catastrophic handling of the crisis by blaming China , surely , you have not fallen for that chestnut , Trump and Doris , reactionary policies and always behind events because of it !

And as previously stated , i do not trust either countries or our shambolic lot !

I am definitely not making any rash judgement's based on anything from our press , sky news , bbc etc , or the majority of media outlets from America , who , as the global superpower will try to rewrite history and some will be stupid enough to "lap it up " !

Stay alert , keep an eye on Doris's plummeting approval ratings towards other governments that have not fuc*ed it up

Our capitalist system is a corrupt monolith in desperate need of reform , i am hoping that this will force the issue !

I don't think the Chinese made a super virus and released it purposely

Nor do I but they may have possibly had an accident in a lab? Hopefully science will eventually come up with the truth but will we be allowed to know?

And I don't think the US reacted to the pandemic effectively.
Depends on how you view the stats for instance if you take deaths vs population USA is quite low and Belgium is the worse.
Deaths in Sweden on the other hand aren't that high seeing they did very little.
Too many variables to say who done the best and worst.

Morning all

My take is this... China and the U.S. are, have and will use any opportunity to not trust the other. Over anything. China is a nation that traditionally looks inward and doesn't share information. The u.s. Increasingly is one that places blame for their own ills at the door of others - even internally.

I think Chuffy or spanker mentioned the documentary film, the coming war on china. It's well worth a watch to see the recent history of this spat between them.

I wouldn't trust either to tell me it's Sunday without checking myself.

I don't think the Chinese made a super virus and released it purposely. And I don't think the US reacted to the pandemic effectively.

Have a good day y'all

There are plenty of current cases at any one time to study as itís global. But early infections (during or before initial mutations) could hold information on where, when and how it got from a lab/animal into people. Unless those mutations had knowingly been encouraged in a lab, any country should want/have that early information and share it with the scientific community.
Of course they could, even as a country who have previously been the source of covidís sister disease, openly eat wild bats and study strains of existing coronaviruses in them; just blame the US army and claim it as biological warfare

So taking out those you have mentioned and don't trust out leaving just the samples for a moment. Do you trust the Chinese to make that data available and more importantly do you trust them to do it without tampering with it?

I don't see the point in keeping samples once they have been analyzed and logged especially in an "unsafe " environment , i certainly would not trust anything from Pompeo , as i would not trust anything from Doris , any country that has made a "balls " of things and is looking for scapegoats , Brazil are the last political "basket case" that i predicted to be joining us and America in the unenviable top spots , make your own assumptions as to why and how i thought this possible , there is a common factor !

Hard to believe. Even if it were true wouldn't they have done intensive testing and would have kept detailed records and data of their findings. I'd imagine if you had access to those type of things it would be almost be as good as looking at the real thing.

Every country has to look after its own interests.

Still I see no answer to the outstanding question.

Im sure i saw Wayne with his arm around Piers Corbyn not sure whether it was a man hug or a death grip
