Chuffy you have just highlighted how to use scare tactics that MSM use to keep themselves relevant in these times.

Even if people are most contagious after 3 days but don't show symptoms, if they think they are well should still be social distancing. So how is it still transferring?

The trouble is the people breaking the shutdown, meeting for parties or just meeting up are probably spreading it along with those still arriving in this country whether legal or illegal are an unknown factor.

Everyone arriving at these shores should be held in isolation, yes held in isolation, this gives time to prove they are free from CV and also for the illegals time to prove their reasons.

There are still to many dying and being infected to become complacent about this!

A private room treating a c19 patient that's right , point is , 1 person , infected ,without symptoms

What were they doing in hospital being treated for Covid if they didn't have symptoms

This is what I was reading:
"Air Distance: up to 4 meters (13 feet) might be possible (in hospitals) -
The maximum transmission distance of SARS-CoV-2 aerosol might be 4 m" (13.1 feet), according to a study published on April 10 on Emerging Infectious Diseases, a journal of the US CDC which also found that "SARS-CoV-2 was widely distributed in the air and on object surfaces in both the ICU and general ward (GW), implying a potentially high infection risk for medical staff and other close contacts"

but note the words "might be"

walking up and down isles at a supermarket can infect a lot of people

Obviously not as much as you'd think with social distancing in place otherwise we'd all be riddled with it

that it is airborne and it can travel at least 4 meters from it's host

that figure (along with all the other scary stats) came about from tests inside an ICU unit though, where there is a massive concentration of the virus though not a supermarket, just to be clear

Infected people are said to be at their most contagious after 3 days , and considering most people are not even showing symptoms then , not good ! and when the science catches up with the available stocks of ppe in countries around the world they then announce that " masks are mandatory " which when you look at the available evidence , that it is airborne and it can travel at least 4 meters from it's host , (thats inside) and can remain airborne for a considerable amount of time , however long that is ? it becomes problematic , this was all public knowledge in February ! creating a certain amount of anger in a few of the more critical thinkers

how are they getting infected when we are supposed to be isolating and social distancing?

That's what I've been thinking. Only thing I can think of is people with the virus but showing no symptoms but if they distance themselves then they can't pass it.

With all of us glued to the news the MSM must be coining it.

Have I missed something in relation to the statistics as BBC news at 1 were stating there were 30,000 deaths - sorry just seen it in the Guardian and BBC both stating the statistic titled biggest death rate in Europe but half way down in the main body of the text that you should not compare different countries due to different reporting standards! But i guess that doesn't make big headlines!

Every death is one to many but to be quite honest they are just cannon fodder to the MSM to score points!

I cant see restrictions being lifted until the daily infection rate drops drastically with around 4,000 new cases a day how are they getting infected when we are supposed to be isolating and social distancing?

I saw that one too - although in the one i saw it said his wife works on a fish counter near CDG airport ...

I think there'll be more of these type of stories popping up - as you say, Trump won't like it. (fake news anyone?) Do you think he'll now start calling it the French virus?

(unlike the 'Spanish flu' that was first recorded in the U.S. of course...)

Not quite what Trump wants to hear , this is from the Guardian
French researchers led by Yves Cohen, head of resuscitation at the Avicenne and Jean Verdier hospitals, retested samples from 24 patients treated in December and January who had tested negative for flu before Covid-19 developed into a pandemic.

The results, published in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents, showed that one patient - a 42-year-old man born in Algeria, who had lived in France for many years and worked as a fishmonger - was infected with Covid-19 “one month before the first reported cases in our country”, they said.

Cohen told French television on Monday it was too early to know if the patient, whose last trip to Algeria had been in August 2019, was France’s “patient zero”.

The researchers said the absence of a link with China and the lack of recent travel “suggest that the disease was already spreading among the French population at the end of December 2019”.

I'm in agreement with Jon, Ocelot AND tinhead... shocker!

There does need to be scrutiny and questioning of the decision makers - but if it's purely for points scoring and being smug then what's the point? If the repeated questioning forces government to revisit mistakes and take better action then I'll put up with the tedium of every reporter asking the same thing...

I understand what you're saying Jon but I think there's a difference between constructive criticism and political point scoring to try elevate your political beliefs and because Boris gets up your noise
BTW when I say your I don't mean you
