BB, Your opinion on what qualifies as comedy gold and what falls short obviously isn't the same as mine, that's fine with me, but I won't be following your advice thanks.

I'll give you a clue about my job - it starts with 'trans-', but it doesn't end with '-sexual' or '-itvan' ...

Here's a good one for you..

Q: Whose is that post that looks like a letter?
A: It's that Cbeebies.

Comedy gold!

Hi Jon Boy,

I gave it as friendly advice to Mal, because as you know, some of these drama people can be quite theatrical.

As to you keep making jokes, I think we need to have a conversation about what actually qualifies as being considered as being funny. I think you have some work to do on that.

You don't have to justify anything. You mentioned that you wrote stuff that you had proofreaders check, so that implies you write professionally, and as you know, I have an interest in English language and am genuinely interested in what it is you write about. You can always use PM.

If you have the virus, you should stay in isolation, not go out wearing a mask just to prove a point.

My plasterer mate wears masks to to protect him from the multi finish dust, but that isnt a virus! Multifinish particles are like a billion times larger than the CV19 virus, plus it'll get in you ear anyway, but no-one talks about wearing ear plugs??

I was laughing at your menacing 'Take some friendly advice' line.

As in 'OOhhh ... that's scary, what will happen if I choose to ignore your advice and keep making jokes?'

I don't feel I need to justify myself by telling you anything about my work, thanks.

Hi Jon Boy,

No idea what that means.

Never mind, while you're there, you didn't answer when I asked what writing you do that you use proofreaders to check for you?

BB.

Edit.
My screen keeps going into wide screen again and only on this thread.
It's a nuisance because the page then keeps locking and won't let me change to other pages.
Help anyone?

Hi Mal,

I'm not looking for an argument either.
The original premise was whether the subject of masks was simple or not.
Not a particularly vital discussion.
Pleased you're not an idiot. That's one less we have to contend with.

BB

Edit.
Mal, take a friendly piece of advice.
Stick to the drama and leave the comedy to those who are funny.
.you too Jon Boy.

Wow, that bumper list of ******** is brilliant!

Reminds me of the one about the Lisbon Treaty

I can just imagine the CEO of Pfizer stamping around his office, shaking his fists 'Goddamit, some nerd's spotted the word HARM in PHARMA! We'd have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those eagle eyed truth-hunters!'

We don't have the available mask's to be able to do that ,we have and still are having problems supplying ppe to doctors and nurses as mentioned by you and the majority of others here previously !

keep your eye on ebay when the ffp 2 masks drop back to around £1 - £2 per mask the shortage will be over , but that could be a long time off .

Hi BB

I'm not going to argue with you about it.

Nothing works in isolation - but to use that as a cop out excuse for not doing something means one becomes part of the problem. I do my recycling because there's a benefit to it. Others don't. I'm doing my bit which is what I'm in control of / have responsibility for. Seatbelts save lives - but they don't stop people from dangerous driving. I've got a seatbelt and I use it.

I have a mask - I'll wear it as it benefits others I might come into contact with. I won't use it as an excuse to break distancing guidelines because I'm not an idiot.

Hope you have a good day

Hi Mal,

I'll try once more too, without the sarcasm, and the gaps between sentences to make it easier for me to read.
Your statement at face value and in isolation seems perfectly reasonable, but doesn't address all the other factors that the medics, stats people and government have under consideration, some of which I suggested.
It's quite possible that a significant number of the public wearing all sorts of masks and then breaking the guidelines could actually increase the rate of infections. If you think that unlikely, then you have far more confidence in the public's civic responsibility than I and I suspect, the government has.
Logic should tell you that, if it was as simple as you say, there would be no debate and we would be doing it.

BB.
