In reply to Post #46 A Fool and his Eel is available through Abe Books
abe books link
It is worth going through Abe books for any author, there are often copies available that aren't around on amazon or ebay.
I mentioned Carp Amid the Storm, it was £2.95 I paid with carriage. Selling price £2.50, 45pence for post.

In reply to Post #44 No arguments in terms of it being a quality book but it is far from an out and out carp book, which is what I thought the OP wanted. I found his salmon fishing chapters the most enjoyable as well as the development of Ashmead. When you read it you get the sense of passion Mark holds toward fishing and the environment whereas most of the other books mentioned tend to focus on the drive and commitment of the angler in pursuit of his goal

In reply to Post #44 It's a work of art, but no good as a first carp book imo. Defo one to buy at some point though.

Mark Walsingham (owner of Ashmead) wrote the book a Fool and His Eel. It is without doubt the finest angling book I have ever read...and I have read most of those mentioned so far in this thread.
