In reply to Post #883 The downside is you get opposition parties ganging up just to stop the government.... a bit like Brexit

In reply to Post #882 and that's with a whole load of people who voted either Labour or Conservative instead of who they might have voted for in a different system.
if it;s a good enough system for a referendum then it should be good enough for elections too. But as said already - there's no chance of those who benefit from the current system changing it to a fairer one is there?

In reply to Post #877 This first past the system only works for Conservative and Labour, it can't be right that to make your vote count you have to vote tactically rather than what you believe in. I'm not saying that a straight swap to PR will cure it but a rethink is needed in my opinion.

Tinhead's got me right.
I voted for something I support rather than choosing the lesser evil of a choice of liar (insert your own choice of party leader here)
Peace and indeed love

In reply to Post #867 So you don't vote
I've already heard a few times people spouting that, although the Conservatives won convincingly, that they didn't win by over 50% of the votes obviously everyone else voted for Remain and as such BJ doesn't have a mandate. FFS when will they accept they lost.......... Oh I now when the win
Are we going to run a sweepstake on next Labour leader, my money is on a Corbyn/Mcdonnell clone like Rebecca Wrong Lady!
I'm just glad that Thornburry got re-elected as imagine that turning up at the food bank
