Koeman has history with the club I guess - played in Cruyff's team there. Maybe a bit of nostalgia?

There's a rumour that he's taking it on for a year as a club favourite brought in to clear out some of the older heads and bring through some youngsters. More palatable for the fans if a club legend does it rather than a manager from outside of the fold I suppose...

The 2 best managers are already taken - Klopp ain't leaving Anfield and Dyche is on to a good thing at Burnley with free Greggs any time he wants...

He's not all bad just tactless in his business.
I remember when he announced retirement from international football that wasn't without some controversy.

When he was constantly dropped I think the fans had some sympathy for him but I think that's gone over time.
Shame as I'd like to see his leaving as a mutual thank you between him, the club and the fans.
Still this thread is not all about him.

I see Koeman is the new Barca manager there must be a shortage of good managers at the moment, you'd think Barca could attract someone better than him.
Or am I missing something

Surprise surprise, Iím going to stand up for Ozil , he werenít the only player to refuse, one other did, plus he asked for more details before committing, he wasnít against the idea but wanted to know exactly what the club had in mind, as it is he looks like he was right because the club still laid off 55 staff even after the others took a cut.

Plus you also forgot to mention that the ref can run faster than him. Great player in his day, spent force who shows no desire, out with the ****, some would say keep him

Terrible attitude. His agent has probably told him to sit tight cause he's getting a percentage. And then a big chunk of any signing on fee after next year when he inevitably ends up at West Ham of course....

I've never understood how a players contract doesn't give the club any power at all to terminate it if they are clearly not doing the job. Surely his contract states that he will be playing competitive football and that he has a responsibility to make sure he is fully prepared to do it....

He's a toe rag

ozil great footballer on his day but his body language lets him down, often looks like he's not bothered.

Talk about footballers that are only in it for the money. So he stays put and continues to take £350k a week. When the players were asked to take a voluntary pay cut during lockdown he was the only to refuse.
So what happens in a years time when his contract runs out, who wants a player with that attitude in their team?

Now I've said that he'll probably start next season, play brilliantly and play every game

Do you think he misunderstood what his agent said when he was given the offer to resign....?

'So... I get 200,000 grand a week to quit Arsenal? Hell yeah. Just don't tell Mesut'
