In reply to Post #27 I for one miss the old showmanship, disappeared about the same time as boxing died a death in this country, getting better but nowhere near back to where it should be, nowt wrong with a bit of panto for the punters.

In reply to Post #25 That was brilliant, the first couple of conferences anyway. Got a bit stale towards the end. Connor is pushing hard for a rematch too.
Anyone watching his return to the cage this weekend?

In reply to Post #22 It's quite comical, but also quite put on I think. There is a vid clip from the London one this week, back stage, where they are laughing and joking and wilder even congratulating tyson on his weight loss. All very friendly

In reply to Post #18 Maybe but he did say he definitely wasn't retiring. Whatever he does, I think his days as a world level contender are over

In reply to Post #15 Think there are a few options for groves now, but all from below him in the rankings.. Plenty of up and coming fighters looking for a name on their record. He's not looked the same fighter since froch ko'd him the second time imo. Move up to light heavy to rematch degale (can't see a bigger money fight for him anywhere else), and then hang the gloves up would be about the best he can do now I reckon

In reply to Post #14 Just watched the highlights. Great boxing display and very well disciplined from Smith, used the jab very well and picked the punches
Groves, not so sure myself, the question I would ask his where does he go next or who can he fight next?
Maybe a rematch with Smith. Smith dominated with the Jab but Groves caught him early in the 7th, could have gone either way at that point for me, although Smith did box well. One up for the Smith family
Good news is we have a new British champion, fights like that and he may hold the belts a long time which would be nice to see

In reply to Post #12 He says he definitely not retiring. Off th back of that performance I can't see him getting back to world level again, a step up to light heavy may be in order
