300 acres? - presume you are not talking about the Homersfield syndicate which is 35 acres.

There are 25 swims for members, 2 swims for lodge guests, and 4 or 5 swims always roped off for feeding stock and filming.I have fished it in the past but got several mates who have fished it every week for years. Its a cracking private lake (under padlock), but a minefield of rules and roped off swims recent years take away the attraction for me.
Stock wise, the owner likes to put all decent catches on fb. A few fish have passed recent years but you still got a couple of crackin mid 50 commons (young fish), a nice mid 40 mirror, and 4 or 5, 40+ commons. Good head of 30's & 20's, so its tasty. On the down side at least 50% of stock are commons up to 12Lb and its heaving with roach in the 6oz - 1.5 lb bracket, so bait presentation is tricky. Lots of big old cats lurking as well.

Getting on the syndicate in the past has been easy if you know an existing member. But I'm told this year they are cutting numbers down (75 to 40?) hence the closure until mid June and the price going from 800 to a grand.

That does sound like heaven.
Mines about 23 acres with just over 30 members. Only about 10-12 of them fish exclusively for carp, others fish for tench, bream and pike etc. Quite a few members hardly ever fish it. There's usually no more than 3 or 4 on and I quite often have the place to myself overnight.
As for swims, in a lot of carp anglers opinion there's probably none. No dug outs, boards or bark chippings in sight, in reality there's probably dozens of swims.

300 acres - 50 man syndicate, all decent blokes vetted by the gaffer. No "celebrities" jumping the queue, old skool rules, no drum and bass, no "big ups", no you tube videos sticking the knifes into other syndicate members backs.

Just a decent group of working class blokes that enjoy their fishing.

Not sure on the swims, must be about 40 or 50 but each one has loads of acres to fish to.

It's heaven on earth if your into a bit of solitude and massive pits with low stocks.

Be lucky.

Anyone know much about fishing the Homersfield syndicate in Suffolk. I've heard lots of of members have dropped out this year becos of a big price hike and also the lake is closed until June. The chap who told me fished it for roach so he don't know much on the carp front. The Faceache page and the website suggest a few nice fish but in my experience always best to get a few opinions.

I have more or less stopped fishing now, apart from a couple of very hard to reach local ponds. They are so difficult to get too, I rarely can face it.
When I was in the thick of my carp angling, I was never a member of any syndicates or top waters, although I was lucky enough to fish many as a guest, and would of loved to have had my own ticket for many of them but, I probably wasnít committed enough.
The waters I was a member of though, were very nice places to fish, with lovely stock. The fact that they stayed off the radar for a good while, made them in some ways better than the syndicates. They were cheap, relatively quiet with nice fish.

Donít overlook these type of places, there are still many around.

Depends what you're after? My lake is in Boreham if you're interested? If you're after joining somewhere for proper big fish you'll either have to pay lots of money, have a long wait or know someone on the inside. A lot of the 'best' syndicates you'll probably not even hear about without some digging.

I can see this is an old threat. If someone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Been out of the game for a few years, looking for a syndicate to join in the Chelmsford area. Live in Boreham, know of a few in the area but all seem to be full or dead mans shoes.

Any information from anyone would be much appreciated, feel free to PM me if preferred.

Thanks in advance

Totally.
I had friends who were members, and while not jealous of their results was slightly envious.
The other thing is the Symonds family have bred some beautiful fish from a mix of strains, including Redmire Leneys, Italians and some others.

Savay fish are quite openly reported, as are West Stow and the Nunnery fisheries on the Suffolk/Norfolk border.
A syndicate that is very hush hush, although you hear rumours, is the Homersfield syndicate further round to the East, even though they have a website.

The saying itís who you know is so true!

Today we started a job on an old Manor House, with a big estate lake about 10acres in the grounds. I mentioned I fish and the owner pointed me over the grounds keeper after a quick chat and walk round the lakehe said I was welcome to fish it. Only ten people are allowed and he showed me a couple of pics of mid 30ís and I saw a ton of fish in the weed.

Best of all, free fishing

A lot of the colne valley was very low last year. Lots of lakes had swim closures, or complete closures. The low water levels and bright sunshine might make the weed growth interesting later in the year. I expect a lot of waters to still be very weedy late sept into Oct this year.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
I wasn't asking out of pure noseiness, but trying to get a gauge on how many members to have on my place going forward.
For two years we had twenty members plus myself and a mate and it was fished so very little. Just 100 times last season and that's including people just fishing for a morning or afternoon.
Whilst I don't want it rammed, it would be nice to see a bit more angling going on, even if it was just a couple of guys on a Friday and Saturday night.
Judging by your responses I'd say that twenty should be about right, just a different group of people than before.

Thatís a great point. The beauty of syndicates/societies is that you can pick them for different reasons. One of mine is very serious, one of mine is a great laugh and the third one I have doesnít even have any thirties in it, but I get the place to myself so the size of the fish in it is irrelevant.

Very difficult to achieve this on busy day ticket and circuit waters.

Just under 3acres
15 members with only 4 of us doing nights.
30ish carp with 2 x 30s
In a private wooded location totally of the radar...
No monsters but idyllic carping these days.
And only 160 per season.

Had all the big ones in my first season but been a member for the last few years as its such a quiet lake that I really enjoy fishing - and I can take my lad with me at any time.

Syndicate I am on is approx.120 acres comprising 7 pits, capped at 50 members plus another 20 which are day only memberships. Finding a swim isn't an issue and you can easily fish for several days without seeing anyone. Carp wise, not much under 20, with over 50 x 30's and at least 15 x 40's on the complex, biggest fish is 51.08 right now. Well known water and all the celebs have fished it at one time or another, but it's never been crowed or over fished. You don't get the nodies or camping carpers either, you know the sort that ruin most club and day ticket waters...

10 acres
11 swims
30 members

Never busy due to the fact the guy that runs it tries to have members from far and wide , that way you don't have 30 local lads stiching up the place every week , as a result the members all fish it quite rarely , only time it's busy is when there's a work party .....

I once did a 4 nighter over the Easter weekend and had the whole lake to myself , didn't even see anyone !

A ticket I wont be dropping anytime soon .....

And in answer to the original question.... 1) As Mr Agent Says.... 2) new place of 29 acres... 40 members... Most I've seen on is 5.....3) 40 acres... 55 members... Think saw 10 once.

3 nice quiet venues

40 members
26 acres
18 swims although you are allowed to set up wherever you like and do not have to stick to made swims.
I fish Friday morning to Saturday morning every fortnight. So far this season it has been busy, with approx 10-12 on when I am there.

15 acres, 30 members, 11 swims, limited to 4 nights in any 14 and 18 nights per 4 month ticket period, subsequently only lightly fished, 6 on is busy, generally 3 or 4 or less. Its helped by the fact that a number of members do not do their allocation of nights. Membership is balanced between mid-week anglers and weekend anglers.

9 swims, though lake holds 7 anglers at a time, 20 members plus 3 bailiffs. Friday nights there can be a full house, room any other day/night.

A question for all those that fish syndicate/limited member water.

How many members and swims does your water have?
Also how busy does it get?
