And me. But I put some silicone tubing on first, then shrink the shrink tube over that.

I find it grips the leader better this way when wet.

Anyone know which Korda no trace (leadcore or naked version) would fit best on 40lb fox submerge leadfree? Previous post states the naked version is good on the 30lb version but Iím thinking the 40lb would be too thick for that so assuming the leadcore version would suit better

I also only use submerge. Much better than leadcore which seems a bit redundant these days.

I always pinch close the no trace bead a very very tiny amount with some pliers. They stay on the leader much better and securer. And still slide off easy under any sort of tension

I also found they are too loose for a lead free leader like fox submerge but If you use the Korda naked chod system on the 30lb version itís perfect, nice snug fit that only moves if it needs to, I use the lead core version on the 45lb submerge and thatís perfect too 👍

I've always used 1cm of shrink tube shrunk onto the leader positioned wherever you want it, it will be tight enough to grip but loose enough to reposition where needed. Slide your top bead onto that, if it's too loose shrink another 1cm bit on the first bit.

Cheers for the suggestions and Iím liking the sound of the Korda beads.
I use the fox pre tied leaders which come with the rubber sleeve and the small bead that sits on the sleeve, if I remove the supplied bead do you think that the Korda ones will sit snug on the tubing that is already on the leader?

Cheers

You can buy a pack of 50 of them for about 2 quid from korda. Hardly a rip off, ive been using them for a few years and have lost about 6 in that time

I find with lead free leaders, I use the nash one that the no trace system doesent grip as tightly as it does on leadcore and can slip up the line

To get round this I made up a few lengths of leader and set the rubber sleeve part the bead goes onto at different intervals on each one and stuck them with a dab of super glue

Whatever you do though, don't glue the bead!!!

Korda no trace beads are very good, and make for a very safe set up.

Replacement beads are cheap and they only come off if the fish runs towards you.

I've been recommended the korda 'no trace' beads. Look like they'll work but the only problem is once the bead comes off its gone forever ( this is because the bead isnt actually a bead, more of a c shape pushed onto a tiny tail rubber.) So you'll forever be buying damn beads. Maybe it's all just clever marketing by everyone's favourite tackle company.

Good evening

Have been messing around with chod rigs and helicopter set ups lately with some success.
My only problem/question is, the bead that sits along the lead free leader moves up the leader far to easily then I think it should.
I set the depth before I cast allowing the chod to slide say 8inches but as soon as I cast it the bead just slips up the leader increasing the depth of the chod.

What am I doing wrong here?

Many thanks!
