Awful!
How can the bowler who was ridiculed on the last tour be destroying us!
Cook and pieterson need to step up here, two of our best ever batsmen should be leading by example getting runs, not giving their wickets away and starting these epic collapses!
These two got runs against the likes of Bret lee and Shaun tait, Johnson's pace shouldn't be a problem!

What a way to start a series. Only 6 days played in total and we look tired and beaten...
I fear another 5-0 drubbing, but we bounced back well from the last such result out there in 2007, winning the 2009 Ashes series.

In reply to Post #32 It's too soon for bresnan after the injury, looks like a possibility for the 3rd test tho. With his pace on these pitches I'd expect him to go for a lot of runs, but he does give you important wickets and useful runs.
I want to see stokes, brilliant in the field, can really punish teams with the bat and bowls mid 80s with the odd quicker ball 90+mph.
Seemed a bit childish from Anderson, most quicks would stick a bouncer on his chin or ribs and be done with it

In reply to Post #32 It was audible but wouldn't take much for Anderson to laugh it off and tell the umpire to jog on..
It happens in every series and hopefully always will!

When did Anderson run to teacher? If it was the Clarke incident whilst batting then Clarkes comment was clearly audible. Stupid thing to say and not very nice.
Root at 3 for me. Keep Pietersen and Bell 4+5. If Bresnan is fit lets go with a 5 man attack. Would be brave dropping to 5 batsmen after losing by nearly 400 runs.

In reply to Post #30 Yeah shame about trott, certainly wasn't in the right frame of mind for a series down under..
Anderson running to the teacher is embarrassing, give as good as you get and don't be a coward!
Well deserved win for the Aussies, Johnson was something else.. He's a potential series winner

In reply to Post #29 It is a shame for him and I hope he sorts himself out.
In the meantime bell should move to three and bairstow or stokes come in at 6 or 7, I'd prefer stokes but it would be a gamble.
Ballance would be in the reckoning too but I can't say I'm a fan.

In reply to Post #24 The Carberry dismissal was a little unfortunate really. Trott though was shocking. Will be lucky to make the 2nd test. Not quite sure who would replace him, perhaps Stokes to bolster bowling as well.
Beefy said 5-0. It's possibly on the cards just the wrong way round if we continue like that.
