In reply to Post #181 Well said, sums it up perfectly really. Did love the people on social media saying the wicket was to blame. LMAO! Do they think Australia batted on a different wicket that was changed during the breaks?
England cricket wont get anywhere until there are wholesale changes in the way selection works. "I'm in the team cause i'm BFFs with the captain", needs to go and be replaced with earning a place.
Last moan: How on EARTH can you have a successful organisation where the man in charge is BFFs with the captain? Essentially negating the coach completely? Disgraceful, the England Old boys network needs to go, EARN YOUR PLACE. Might start being consistent then imo.

In reply to Post #181 Playing at balls not hitting stumps when your trying to save a test. Disgraceful.

In reply to Post #180 joke
embarrassment
lythe and butler couldn't defend one stump, bell and balance all over the place and we aint got a bowler with raw pace, the aussises must a been at half pace in Cardiff
we are doomed, this test reminded me of watching English cricket in the 80s, I feel sorry for root and stokes

In reply to Post #179 I can see them getting 600+ and then beating us by an innings before the rain disrupts the game.

In reply to Post #178 ken, you should be a professional gambler, you got it bang on

In reply to Post #177 that lords test could be won on the first morning...by whoever wins the toss, and this morning it's the Aussies. Looks like a slow wicket so I expect high scores, could be 350+ by close. The Aussies will look to attack from the start, especially as it is at Lords.

One down. Four to go...but I have a feeling Lords won't be quite so easy and if Starc is out, then Siddle would be a perfect replacement as he is much in the same mould as Anderson or McGrath. Wicket to wicket, line and length and hard to play. Perfect for the Lords wicket. Cannot wait!

In reply to Post #174 Yes well done England. Broad is so much better when he is pitching the ball up and not dropping it too short. Also Cook had a good game as Captain even though the big decision of declaration was not needed.

Just bowl them out today...Rain coming Sunday so please don't let them draw by default. Our bowlers look revitalised and Wood is pretty special. Come on England...(and I never expected to be writing in such a positive vein just a few weeks back then they came home from the WI with the team in tatters).
